You'll gain exposure to a wide range of functions including Quality, Manufacturing, Marketing, Consumer Services, and the Global Supply Chain team, making this an excellent opportunity to build both technical expertise and business knowledge.\nWhether you're a recent graduate or have some industrial laboratory paint experience, this role offers fantastic development opportunities within a global organization committed to helping employees grow their careers.\n As an R&D Associate Chemist, you will:\nProduct Development & Formulation\nSupport the development of new paint products and formulations.\nTest and validate reformulations of existing products.\nConduct laboratory testing to evaluate product performance and quality.\nContribute to projects managed through the stage-gate development process from feasibility through to production scale-up.\nSupport production trials and product launches.\nProduct & Material Support\nAssist with quality investigations, complaint resolution, and production batch corrections.\nSupport Quality Assurance and Consumer Services teams with technical laboratory testing.\nLearn and utilize formulation and recipe management systems.\nHelp ensure products comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.\nRaw Material & Product Evaluation\nEvaluate raw materials for use in current and future formulations.\nConduct benchmarking studies against competitor products.\nSupport stability testing and product performance assessments.\nPerform colour matching activities and contribute to product improvement initiatives.\nLaboratory Operations\nMaintain laboratory equipment and complete calibration activities.\nUphold ISO, quality, and safety standards.\nOrder laboratory consumables and maintain stock levels.\nPrepare technical reports and document experimental findings.\nCreate product samples to support marketing and customer activities.\n Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer/materials science or related technical discipline\n\nBasic laboratory skills\n\nEffective written & verbal communication skills / Confidence in presenting\n\nAbility to work flexibly, adapt and respond positively to changing priorities\n\nAbility to work in a team environment and on own initiative\n\nStrong accountability, integrity and enterprise awareness\n\nStrong focus on customer, value creation, and development of differentiated solutions\n\nPreferred:\nPaints/coatings formulation experience\n\nPrevious industrial/chemistry experience\n\nSix Sigma knowledge\n\nAbility to work successfully in a matrixed organization\n\nDriving license is preferred due to occasional travel\n\nWhat We Can Offer You:\nThe established salary range for this position is £35,148-£45,411\n\nCompany bonus plan\n\nWork-Life Balance: We value your personal time and well-being.\n\nCareer Opportunities: Grow within a truly international business.\n\nOngoing Training and Support: Continuous learning and development opportunities.\n\nPay Transparency\nThe salary range shown refers to base salary only.
