This role involves conducting research on emerging technologies, triaging issues, automating processes, and monitoring IT components for continuous availability. The ideal candidate will manage incident resolution, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and utilize tools like ServiceNow to track changes and adhere to change management processes.This position is required to report to the Somerset, NJ or Austin, TX office location on a hybrid schedule.\nRole Description\nWireless LAN (Cisco & Meraki):\nConfigure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco WLCs (e.g., Catalyst 9800, 3504).\nDeploy and optimize wireless access points using CAPWAP and RF best practices.\nManage Meraki wireless networks via the Meraki Dashboard.\nDesign and implement SSIDs, guest access portals, and wireless security policies.\nPerform RF site surveys and spectrum analysis to ensure optimal coverage.\nIntegrate wireless solutions with Cisco ISE for authentication and policy enforcement.\nMonitor wireless performance and resolve connectivity issues.\nRouting & Switching:\nDesign, configure, and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure.\nImplement and troubleshoot routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).\nConfigure and manage Cisco switches and routers (Catalyst, Nexus).\nEnsure network redundancy, high availability, and failover mechanisms.\nMonitor network performance using SNMP, NetFlow, and other tools.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams for network expansion and upgrades.\nBehaviors and Competencies\nCommunication: Can effectively communicate complex ideas and information to diverse audiences and can facilitate effective communication between others.\n\nAdaptability: Can proactively adapt to challenging situations, anticipate changes, and make modifications to meet the demands of changing circumstances.\n\nSelf-Motivation: Can proactively seek out challenges, initiate self-development projects, and contribute to personal or professional innovative ideas.\n\nTeamwork: Can lead a team effectively, facilitating cooperation, sharing information, and ensuring that all team members are able to contribute to their full potential.\n\nAnalytical Thinking: Can synthesize complex data, identify patterns, draw insights, and present findings clearly and understandably.\n\nDetail-Oriented: Can manage complex tasks or projects, identifying errors or inconsistencies, and ensuring all details are addressed, necessary corrections are made, and quality is maintained.\n\nOrganization: Can effectively coordinate multiple projects, delegate tasks where appropriate, and employ advanced organizational tools and methods.\n\nProblem-Solving: Can proactively identify potential problems, initiate preventive measures, and propose and contribute to innovative solutions.\n\nInitiative: Can proactively seek out challenges, initiate projects, and contribute to innovative ideas.\n\nTechnical Troubleshooting: Can proactively seek out potential technical problems, initiate preventive measures, and contribute to innovative solutions.\n\nSkill Level Requirements\nAbility to simplify and effectively communicate complex problems to stakeholders across various functions and levels. - Intermediate\n\nExpertise in leveraging cloud-based platforms and services to build, deploy, and manage applications and data on the internet - Intermediate\n\nExperience in managing and maintaining computer systems and networks to ensure optimal performance and security. - Intermediate\n\nFamiliarity with tools such as Puppet, KernelCare, Tenable, and/or Tanium for automating and managing cloud environments. - Intermediate\n\nUnderstanding of directory services such as Active Directory and LDAP for efficient user and resource management. - Intermediate\n\nAbility to implement and manage DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and monitoring to enhance the collaboration between development and operations teams preferred - Intermediate\n\nOther Requirements\nCompleted Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant work experience required\n\n5+ years of experience in enterprise networking.\n\nStrong knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking concepts.\n\nHands-on experience with Cisco WLCs and Meraki wireless solutions.\n\nProficiency in routing protocols and switch configurations.\n\nFamiliarity with network monitoring and management tools.\n\nPreferred:\nCisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CMNA)\n\nThe estimated annual pay range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 which includes a base salary. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
