You will implement and maintain high performance real time and faster than real time simulation environments used by autonomy, perception and systems engineering teams to design, test and demonstrate advanced uncrewed aircraft mission autonomy.\nThis role involves the delivery of complex simulation frameworks that support both customer programs and internal R&D. You will contribute directly to scalable, operationally representative simulation ecosystems that underpin mission critical software development.\nWhat you'll do:\nSupport the design and evolution of distributed real time simulation systems across virtual, constructiveand live environments.\nImplement high performanceC++ software for modelling, simulation, integration workflowsand system interoperability, including compatibility with legacy standards.\n\nDevelop and optimisereal time and distributed simulation software supporting multi agent scenarios and high fidelityenvironments.\n\nIntegrate defencesimulation frameworks such as AFSIM or NGTS to support delivery and ensure alignment with defencecustomer expectations.\n\nDesign and deliver containerisedsimulation deployments using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for development, CI, testingand operational environments.\n\nCollaborate with cross functional teams to connect simulation with autonomy algorithms, hardware interfacesand automated test pipelines.\n\nDrive improvement across CI/CD, test driven development, software architectureand simulation tooling.\n\nSupport key customer programs by delivering reliable and scalable simulation environments.\n\nRequired qualifications:\nTertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronicsor a related field.\n\nProfessional experience in software engineering and systems integration.\n\nStrong experience with modern C++ and familiarity with legacy C++ standards.\n\nProfessional experience with Python.\n\nDemonstrated success delivering reliable software in fast paced engineering environments.\n\nExperience with real time or distributed simulation systems.\n\nExperience with Docker or similar containerisationtechnologies.\n\nProficiencyworking in Linux development environments.\n\nStrong problem solvingcapability and the ability to work through complex technical challenges.\n\nStrong history of collaboration, accountability and being an effective team member.\n\nAbility to obtain an Australian NV1 security clearance.\n\nPreferred qualifications:\nDefenceindustry experience.\n\nExperience with uncrewed systems, particularly in the air domain.\n\nExperience with data processing, analysis pipelinesor test automation workflows (especially Python based).\n\nEligibility Requirements\nOur mission is to protect service members and civilians with intelligent systems, and this role supports that mission directly by working with Australian Government classified material.
