The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software development and technical expertise. Our team is composed of engineers, data scientists and subject matter experts who work together to deliver a high-quality, production-ready Surveillance product. We push the boundaries of what is possible and measure ourselves by the impact we deliver to our clients.\nLet’s get down to business:\nWhat You'll Do:\nDesign, build and maintain the software infrastructure and solutions that make up our Surveillance pipeline, combining classic machine learning models and GenAI models with complex business logic and analytical components. \nOwn significant architecture decisions and evaluate and select the technologies we build on. \nSolve complex engineering problems end to end, from investigation and design through implementation and rollout. \nCollaborate with engineers, data scientists and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality, production-ready that are fully integrated and scalable. \nSupport the product in production: investigate issues, improve observability, and make the system easier to run. \nBuild and operate services in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) on AWS. \nHold a high engineering bar: meaningful unit tests, solid CI/CD following best practices. \nKeep current with developments in software engineering and production ML infrastructure. \nRequirements\nExperience and Skills:\n5+ years of professional Python development experience - MUST \nProven experience designing software architecture for production systems - MUST \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to reason about and improve existing systems. \nStrong background in Linux and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) - MUST \nHands-on experience with AWS. \nExperience with distributed data and messaging technologies such as Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Redis \nExperience with unit testing and CI/CD practices. \nExperience running and supporting production environments \nExperience working closely with Data Science teams - Advantage \nExcellent communication skills and a genuine team player. \nSelf-motivated, results-oriented and well organized. \nMore information about Shield:\nShield is the industry’s most comprehensive digital communications governance and archiving solution, purpose-built for financial institutions.
