Everything the business buys goes through it, from small one-off purchases to contracts worth millions, and you’ll be the person who gets those deals right. The process is already built and running on Zip, so you won’t be designing it from scratch. Your job is to run it well: move requests through intake, negotiate renewals and new contracts with vendors, read the terms closely, and advise business leaders on whether they need to buy something new or whether a tool they already have covers the need.\nWhere you’ll work\nWe’re open to remote candidates across the US, but we prefer to hire in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. Most of the team is based there and goes into our HQ regularly. There’s no hard requirement around office presence.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nReview purchase requests and move them through the established intake workflow, from first request to signed contract.\n\nLead negotiations and renewals for software, cloud services, contractors, and other vendors.\n\nReview contract terms, licensing, and pricing against the market, and push back where the numbers don’t hold up.\n\nCheck whether existing tools can meet a business need before anything new gets bought, and evaluate alternatives when they can’t.\n\nTrack license usage and renewal dates so decisions get made well ahead of deadlines.\n\nAdvise business owners, including executives and VPs, on procurement decisions and cost avoidance.\n\nWork with Finance, Security, and Legal to get deals through review and approval.\n\nWhat you’ll need\nA strong finance background: budgets, cost analysis, and the ability to show that a deal’s numbers hold up.\n\nHands-on vendor negotiation experience, ideally with software or services.\n\nProcurement experience at a level where you’ve run the process end to end, with a track record of progressing in the field.\n\nExecutive presence: you’re comfortable in the room with executives and VPs and hold your position when it counts.\n\nRelationship-building skills: you earn trust with business leaders and can work independently without much oversight.\n\nAn IT background, or enough fluency in IT purchasing to hold your own in technical conversations.\n\nExperience at a technology or SaaS company is a plus.
