You’ll be responsible for designing scalable systems, guiding architectural decisions, collaborating deeply with product and business stakeholders, and mentoring the engineering team while remaining hands-on with code.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nTechnical Leadership & Architecture\nOwn and drive the overall system architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, reliability, and security.\nDesign and review end-to-end solutions across frontend, backend, APIs, and data layers.\nMake informed technology and framework decisions, keeping long-term maintainability and growth in mind.\nEstablish and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and design principles.\n\nHands-on Development\nRemain actively involved in coding, code reviews, and complex problem-solving.\nBuild and scale critical product features that directly impact customers.\nEnsure the codebase remains clean, modular, testable, and future-ready.\n\nDevOps & Platform Ownership\nDrive DevOps best practices across the engineering lifecycle, from development to deployment.\nDesign and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable, and automated releases.\nCollaborate on cloud infrastructure architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency.\nOversee deployment strategies, monitoring, logging, and alerting to maintain high system reliability.\nChampion infrastructure-as-code practices and automation wherever possible.\nWork closely with engineering teams to improve system observability, performance, and uptime.\nEnsure security, compliance, and disaster recovery considerations are built into system design.\n\nProduct & Project Collaboration\nWork closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Leadership to shape product vision and technical feasibility.\nTranslate product requirements into well-structured technical plans, milestones, and execution strategies.\nBalance speed and quality while making trade-offs aligned with business priorities.\nAct as a bridge between business objectives and engineering execution.\n\nMentorship & Team Growth\nMentor and guide engineers across levels, fostering ownership and accountability.\nSupport hiring, onboarding, and growth of a high-performing engineering team.\nEncourage a culture of learning, experimentation, and continuous improvement.\n\nStrategy & Long-Term Vision\nDefine and evolve the technical roadmap aligned with Shipthis’s product and business goals.\nAnticipate scaling challenges and proactively design solutions.\nStay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their relevance to the product.\n\nDesired Qualifications\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.\n6-10 years of experience in software development, with strong exposure to system design and architecture.\nAbility to troubleshoot production issues across application and infrastructure layers.\nHands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure).\nStrong understanding of CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, or similar).\nExperience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).\nFamiliarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalents).\nProven experience working on product-led, scalable software systems.\nStrong hands-on expertise in full-stack development with proficiency in JavaScript and modern frameworks such as Angular (28+), React, or similar.
