Responsible for insuring that all financial information generated is accurate and timely.The Financial Analyst II will consistently demonstrate support of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab statement of Vision, Mission and Core Values by striving for excellence, contributing to the team efforts and showing respect and compassion for patients and their families, fellow employees, and all others with whom there is contact at or in the interest of the institute.\nThe Financial Analyst II will demonstrate Shirley Ryan AbilityLab Core Attributes: Communication, Accountability, Flexibility/Adaptability, Judgment/Problem Solving, Customer Service and Core Values (Hope, Compassion, Discovery, Collaboration, and Commitment to Excellence) while fulfilling job duties.\nJob Description\nThe Financial Analyst II will:\nPerform financial analysis including financial modeling, reporting, and building management review presentations using financial and encounter reporting tools and data.\nProvide key support and analysis in annual operating and capital budget planning process.\nCollaborate with and provide technical and analytical support to department managers in preparation of department level budget and monthly variance analysis.\nPrepare monthly reports (specifically financial performance and budget tracking) and communicate trends and issues that impact the business.\nAssist with conducting financial and market analysis on various internal initiatives and external business development opportunities.\nIdentify and recommend areas of improvements such as increasing the level of data accuracy or decreasing the time spent to update a model or report.\nEducate self through industry readings, conferences, and other forums on critical financial and healthcare trends.\nPerform financial risk and care/cost variation analysis including some advanced statistical techniques. \nPerform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.\nReporting Relationships\nReports directly to the Executive Director, Financial Operations\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Required\nBachelor's degree required - preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.\nMaster’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field preferred.\nMinimum of 3 years of work experience supporting an FP&A team, preferably in a healthcare environment.\nAdvanced financial skills, including a core understanding of the relationship between income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.\nAbility to apply critical thinking and analytic skills to formulate recommendations and resolve problems.\nAbility to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear and concise manner.\nAbility to effectively prioritize concurrent responsibilities and meet timelines.\nProficient with Excel functionality such as lookups, pivot tables, and charts.\nExperience with financial planning tools such as Adaptive Planning preferred.\nExperience with other financial based software programs such as Tableau and Decision Tools (or other statistics, optimization, and Monte Carlo simulation tool) preferred.\nAble to grasp and apply new concepts quickly.\nAbility to work in a high pressure, deadline oriented, and complex health care environment.\nWorking Conditions\nNormal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.\nWork requires ability to sit at a computer for long stretches, and visual ability to read numbers clearly.\nHybrid work model.\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
