About the role

ShopMy is building the most powerful network in creator-led commerce - connecting the world’s most influential tastemakers, brands, and operators in a single ecosystem.

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Strategic Business Development & Partnerships to expand ShopMy’s presence in the world of sports, facilitating partnerships with athletes, brands, sports content creators and more. Reporting directly to our Co-Founder/Chief Business Development Officer, you'll own the full arc - from building the pipeline to closing the partnerships that define it.

This is a builder's role. You'll be opening doors that don't exist yet, shaping how a new category of partner works with ShopMy, and closing deals that materially move the business. If you're an operator and a dealmaker who thrives on both, we want to hear from you.

Roles and responsibilities

• Expand + activate ShopMy's sports network: Lead the sourcing, onboarding, and activation of collegiate and professional athletes, sports content creators, and relevant industry partners. Drive measurable outcomes from that network that result in partnerships and revenue expansion.
• Win high-leverage accounts: Personally lead the acquisition of top-tier brand and league partners that materially increase ShopMy's GMV, brand equity, and market positioning.
• Own marquee partnerships end-to-end: Serve as ShopMy's lead on flagship sports partnerships - shaping what the collaboration looks like, building the athlete roster behind it, and delivering results both sides can point to.
• Build the roster into a category: Turn individual signings into a credible, brand-facing sports vertical inside ShopMy's discovery experience.
• Represent ShopMy externally: Show up at the events and in rooms where this network lives. You'll be the face of ShopMy in front of top brands, agencies, and athletes.
• Partner cross-functionally: Work closely across ShopMy's Creator, Brand, Marketing, and Strategy & Ops teams to ensure business development efforts translate into activation, revenue, and long-term value.

What Sets You Up for Success

• 7+ years in business development, partnerships, or sales in high-growth environments
• A deep, pre-existing network in the sports world: you're already entrenched, whether that's through a sports commerce or apparel company, a league or team, an agency, or a brand's talent org.
• A proven track record of closing high-value, relationship-driven deals
• Strong executive presence - we would put you in front of a CMO or a top athlete without a second thought
• A robust network across creators, brands, talent agencies, and operators
• An exceptional ability to open doors and build trust quickly
• Strong strategic and analytical thinking - you prioritize markets and opportunities with data
• Comfort operating as both operator and closer
• Based in NYC or willing to relocate
• Willingness to travel
• Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM and outbound tooling
• Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) and how they can enhance BD workflows

Bonus Points

• Experience building or scaling a BD function, including referral or connector-based programs
• Experience launching a new vertical, category, or market from zero
• Startup experience

New York Pay Range

$130,000—$150,000 USD

The provided salary range is base salary, exclusive of bonus potential or commission and is a good faith estimate of cash compensation. ShopMy is flexible pending candidate's experience and how our business needs evolve throughout the search. Every employee of ShopMy receives equity on top of cash compensation!
