Complete other special projects assigned periodically by the Director of Engineering.\nResponsibilities:\nTroubleshoot and repair hotel equipment, facilities, and systems (including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical).\nExecuting preventative maintenance, conducting regular inspections, and diagnosing potential issues.\nReviewing work orders to assess completeness and accuracy.\nDeveloping and implementing maintenance programs for the Hotel's facilities and equipment.\nInterpret complex electrical and MEP blueprints, schematics, and specifications accurately.\nSafely install, repair, and maintain all MEP systems, fixtures, outlets, and equipment, motors, pumps.\nEnsure strict adherence to local, state, and national codes and regulations.\nCollaborate effectively with team members, contractors, architects, and clients to ensure project success.\nProvide exceptional customer service by professionally addressing team members' and guests' concerns and inquiries.\nKey Tasks:\nReceive daily work assignments from the Director of Engineering and review priorities and special projects.\nSkillfully perform HVAC, plumbing, and electrical maintenance compliant with local codes.\nInterpret intricate MEP blueprints and technical diagrams.\nUse specialized tools for testing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.\nMaintain rigorous safety standards throughout all tasks.\nKeep meticulous electrical and mechanical work records, including installations, repairs, and maintenance.\nPerform preventive maintenance on all hotel guest rooms and public areas as scheduled; this requires the individual to inspect and detect items needing repair visually and requires knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trades.\nMaintain timelines and work schedules per the preventive maintenance program.\nFoster collaborative relationships with the various departments and team members.\nMentor and train other engineers.\nStay abreast of industry trends and advancements through continuous learning.\nEffectively manage time to meet project deadlines.\nCheck work orders and night reports for any problems. Make rounds checking these problem areas and note any information needed or safety concerns in the Hotel.\nDeliver outstanding guest service.\nQualities & Traits:\nPossess a skilled technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems and safety protocols.\nDemonstrate adept problem-solving skills for resolving complex electrical and mechanical issues.\nExhibit keen attention to detail in interpreting blueprints and executing installations.\nDisplay physical stamina suitable for varied work environments and conditions.\nCommunicate effectively to facilitate collaboration with team members and guests.\nShowcase strong time management skills for multitasking and meeting deadlines.\nAdaptability to different work conditions, regulations, and procedures.\nPrioritize safety consciousness for the well-being of oneself and others.\nEmbrace a continuous learning mindset to stay updated with industry changes.\nTypical Day:\nReview guest calls and mechanical calls.\nGather necessary tools and materials for installations, repairs, or maintenance.\nEngage in diverse projects such as installations, troubleshooting, or system upgrades.\nEnsure rigorous compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulations.\nInspect and promptly address potential hazards or malfunctions.\nCollaborate seamlessly with construction professionals to ensure efficient project completion.\nActivities may encompass indoor or outdoor work, emphasizing meticulous attention to detail.\nRequirements:\nProof of completion of a recognized electrical or mechanical program or equivalent education and experience.\nProof of completion of a technical training program or related certification during the selection process.\nProficiency in reading, writing, and mathematical skills typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.\nAbility to obtain any government-required licenses or certificates.\nThree to five years of Engineer I in hotels.\nWorking Conditions:\nSchedule based on hotel business needs.\nLifting materials up to 100 pounds frequently.\nUtilization of safety equipment for machinery and tool operation.\nMachinery and tool operation requires safety equipment, including but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hard hats.
