{"id":2203923,"url":"https://alion.io/job/si-group-maintenance-planner-and-scheduler","title":"Maintenance Planner and Scheduler","company":{"id":3101143,"name":"SI Group","domain":"siigroup.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/siigroup","size_band":"501-1000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Oracle","truth_index":null},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":null,"employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Newport, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":43000,"max_usd":98000,"period":"year","method":"role_country_seniority_unknown","sample_n":18483},"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"Microsoft Office","optional":false},{"name":"Outlook","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-09T19:38:49Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-09","last_verified_at":"2026-10-20T00:29:40Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":10,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":10},"description":"The Role:\nAs the Maintenance Planner and Scheduler, reporting to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager, you will be the principal leader responsible for accurately planning work order requirements for routine, unplanned outage and turnaround work for all craft disciplines at the SI Group Newport facility.\nHow You Will Make an Impact:\nWorks closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure that all maintenance activities are planned, scheduled and executed in a timely and efficient manner.\nDevelops detailed work plans to include critical information for job execution to include permitting, safety considerations, special equipment, tools and repair parts required (parts kitting).\nEnsures all technical specifications and special instructions are provided on work orders.\nEstablishes the preparatory work required prior to scheduled equipment down time.\nAssists with developing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs that ensure all equipment is well maintained and that production downtime is minimized.\nCoordinates planned downtimes to reduce mean time between failures and minimize interference with production schedules.\nEvaluates executed work against planned work for requirement deficiencies and address those deficiencies when planning future work.\nUses the SAP Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking, planning, and scheduling maintenance.\nConducts weekly meetings with production coordinator to review WO backlog and schedule following weeks activities.\nAssists with maintaining spare parts inventory to ensure that all necessary parts are available when needed.\nWorks closely with the purchasing department to ensure that all MRO supplies are ordered and available when needed.\nAssists in annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting.\nReviews, on a regular basis existing job plans and ensures that they are up to date and contain all pertinent information.\nDevelops and maintains a network of contacts that can provide the goods and services necessary for successful work execution.\nActively manages WO backlog.\nCoordinates outside services as required for successful job execution.\nProvides relief for Maintenance Manager absences when requested.\nCreating Extraordinary Starts With:\nHigh school diploma, or GED equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent relevant work experience preferred\nExperience with CMMS program in inventory control environment\nExperience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals \nExperience writing routine quality assurance reports and correspondence \nStrong knowledge of CMMS and ERP systems preferred \nProficiency with all MS Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)preferred \nWhat We Value:\nWe strive for all employees to nurture physical, mental and emotional health both personally and professionally.
