(SIA) is looking for a motivated Civil/Structural Senior Engineer to join our Critical Infrastructure Solutions team in our Sacramento, CA office. Remote or other office locations (Atlanta, GA, Denver, CO, San Diego, or San Jose, CA) may be considered.\nThe Senior Engineer will provide structural engineering consulting services on advanced analysis and design projects under the supervision of senior management. The Senior Engineer will manage medium-sized projects and provide support to other project managers and engineers. Typical assignments involve 3D modeling and engineering design and analysis of various industrial building and non-building structures and nonstructural components. The company operates in a variety of industries including design and maintenance of civil infrastructure, nuclear power, healthcare, dams and waterways, transportation, defense, pressure vessels and piping, and mechanical and electrical equipment.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nPerform structural engineering analysis and design of steel and concrete structures, stress analysis of piping and components, and seismic qualification of mechanical equipment, using finite element analysis software or hand calculations\nPrepare technical reports and calculation documents\nExecute complex structural engineering tasks\nPlan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate projects of small to moderate scope with limited oversight\nDelegate tasks to other engineers\nReview calculations and analyses from other engineers\nProvide oversight and act as a resource for engineering staff working on managed projects\nDevelop positive client relationships\nRepresent the company, often as the sole SIA attendee at project meetings\nImplement SIA’s policies on safety and quality control\nRequired Skills/Qualifications:\nMS in Civil or Structural engineering from an ABET-accredited university\n5 to 9 years of relevant professional experience\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license\nExperience in solid mechanics, steel, concrete, seismic design/analysis, advanced structural analysis, structural dynamics, and use of advanced finite element analysis software platforms\nKnowledge of standard building and material codes (e.g. ASCE 7, IBC, AISC, ACI, AISI, etc.)\nProficiency in structural engineering or finite element analysis programs (e.g. ANSYS, ABAQUS, SAP2000, LS-DYNA, Matlab, and/or Mathcad)\nExcellent written and oral communication skills\nDesired Skills/Qualifications:\nPhD in Structural engineering\nProject management experience\nExperience in drafting modeling software (e.g. AutoCAD/Revit, SolidWorks, or other 3D modeling software)\nKnowledge of industry standards and code (e.g. ICC-ES AC156, IEEE 693, ASCE 41, etc.)\nAdvanced education or experience in engineering mechanics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, blast, shock, and impact analysis\nPay Range:\nThe expected salary range for this role is $88,800 to $111,000 in Sacramento, CA; $80,480 to $100,600 in Atlanta, GA; $86,720 to $108,400 in Denver, CO; $86,480 to $108,100 in San Diego, CA; and $101,760 to $127,200 in San Jose, CA.
