You will be responsible for monitoring physical security functions, detecting and assessing threats, reporting incidents, and determining impacts on business operations, employees, and facilities. Situations monitored and actioned can result from technical failures, extreme weather, political instability, crime, or terrorism.\nYou will use various tools to accomplish these functions, such as global access control and alarm monitoring systems, integrated video monitoring systems, enhanced visitor management systems, and in-house applications.\nEssential Functions / Responsibilities\nProvide excellent customer service and ensure timely response to incidents, alarms, notifications, and calls for service \nEnsure that all forms of communication, such as emails, phone conversations, and personal interactions, are conducted in a confidential, courteous and professional manner and documented appropriately \nMaintain knowledge of the SOC-specific standard operating procedures \nManage life safety, alarm, communications, reporting, video management, and access control functions at designated locations \nInvestigate and respond to alarms promptly \nEvaluate and process information received from all available sources, and respond with appropriate communication and dispatch procedures \nCommunicate security issues or emergencies by escalating information to department leadership, local law enforcement, and emergency services, such as EMTs, Fire Departments, etc \nRegularly participate in security/safety training programs to stay current on critical SOC responsibilities and competencies, including drills and tabletop exercises \nWrite accurate and concise reports for team members and department supervisors \nOther duties as assigned \nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nAbility to send out informative emails and action alarms on time \nAbility to think critically \nA quick learner with the ability to multi-task \nAttentive, organised, and detail-oriented \nComfortable working in a fast-paced environment \nA strong team player with the ability to work independently as needed \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills \nStrong customer service skills \nAbility to think quickly, multi-task, problem solve, prioritise and coordinate responses in a fast-paced work environment. \n Qualifications\nRelevant work experience in security, research, analysis, investigations or customer service \nCollege / University degree preferred \nPrevious Security Operations Centre (SOC) experience preferred \nProficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications preferred \nFamiliarity with access control systems, CCTV monitoring systems, and incident management platforms.
