This role requires end-to-end ownership across: API Architecture & Design, Platform Engineering & Operations, and API Governance & Security. The architect will act as a single technical anchor across development, platform, and business teams in a high-scale banking environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities :\n\n1. API Platform Architecture :\n\n- Design and govern Apigee Hybrid and Apigee Edge environments.\n\n- Define API architecture standards (proxy design, shared flows, versioning).\n\n- Drive API lifecycle governance across teams.\n\n- Lead API design reviews and approvals.\n\n2. API Development & Governance :\n\n- Define reusable API policies and templates.\n\n- Guide teams on API orchestration, transformations, and error handling.\n\n- Ensure APIs meet banking security and compliance standards.\n\n- Drive API standardization and reuse across platforms.\n\n3. Platform Engineering & Operations :\n\n- Design scalable and highly available API gateway architecture.\n\n- Define deployment models, traffic routing, and failover strategies.\n\n- Lead platform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.\n\n- Drive capacity planning based on API traffic and usage.\n\n4. Observability & Reliability :\n\n- Define monitoring strategy for APIs and platform.\n\n- Establish SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.\n\n- Drive incident management and root cause analysis (RCA).\n\n- Implement proactive alerting and performance optimization.\n\n5. Security & Compliance :\n\n- Implement API security standards : OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS.\n\n- Ensure compliance with banking and regulatory requirements.\n\n- Define Zero Trust architecture principles.\n\n- Lead security reviews and vulnerability remediation.\n\n6. DevOps & Automation :\n\n- Define CI/CD pipelines for API deployments.\n\n- Implement policy enforcement and quality gates.\n\n- Drive automation for deployments and operational tasks.\n\n- Support GitOps-based delivery models.\n\n7.
