This is an opportunity to contribute to a sophisticated simulation project that pushes the boundaries of real-time technology and interactive design.\nWe're looking for a Technical Designer with experience in UE5, VR, first-person gameplay, and simulation titles to drive the technical implementation of gameplay systems and a focus on UI design.\nAs these are project-based opportunities, positions may be amended, postponed, or withdrawn as a result of changing client requirements and project priorities.\nRequirements\nWhat You Will Be Doing\nWorking in a multidisciplinary team, including designers, engineers, and artists, you will collaborate closely to develop and implement engaging gameplay systems and features within Unreal Engine 5, with a focus on UI design and implementation. \nPrototype, iterate, and refine mechanics, interactions, and player experiences, helping shape the moment-to-moment gameplay of a highly immersive VR flight simulation.\nCreate and maintain technical design documentation, visual scripting solutions, and gameplay frameworks that support efficient content creation and scalability.\nIdentify design and implementation challenges, working across disciplines to develop practical, performant solutions that meet both creative and technical goals.\nWhat We're Looking For\nStrong experience as a Technical Designer on Unreal Engine projects, with a solid understanding of UI design.\nAdvanced knowledge of Unreal Engine 5, including Blueprint scripting and the ability to bridge the gap between design and engineering teams.\nExperience prototyping and implementing gameplay features from concept through to production, with a focus on usability, player experience, and iteration.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and contribute to technical decision-making.\nExperience developing VR titles and an understanding of the unique design, interaction, and performance considerations associated with immersive experiences.\nExposure to flight simulation, vehicle gameplay, or other complex systemic gameplay projects.\nBenefits\nCompetitive Salary.\nDynamic, multicultural and fun environment.\nYou will be working for the world's leading provider of game services.\nWe empower our people and offer regular progression opportunities to ensure our employees flourish.\nAbout Side\nSide (formerly PTW) is a global video game development and services provider, offering technical and creative solutions to many of the largest developers and studios around the world.
