Working closely with the Billing Development Senior Manager and stakeholders across Accounting, Billing, IT, and other areas of the Firm, the Lead manages assigned projects and workstreams, evaluates processes and systems, develops solutions and process improvements, and supports successful implementation and adoption. The position serves as an emerging subject matter expert on billing processes and technology and applies a broad understanding of the revenue cycle to promote consistent practices, effective training, and operational improvements across the Billing function.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nLead assigned billing development projects and workstreams from planning through implementation, coordinating stakeholders, deliverables, documentation, timelines, and follow-up activities.\nEvaluate billing processes and systems, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness.\nServe as a subject matter resource on billing technology solutions, processes, and procedures, providing guidance and support to Billing personnel.\nPartner with Firmwide Accounting and Billing management to develop and implement billing procedures, training materials, and tools that support consistent practices across offices.\nSupport billing system implementations, conversions, and upgrades by documenting business requirements, coordinating testing, identifying issues, and supporting deployment and post-implementation activities.\nCollaborate with billing partners, Billing personnel, IT, other Firm departments, and clients, as appropriate, to address questions, resolve implementation issues, and support billing initiatives.\nDevelop and deliver onboarding and training for Billing personnel and contribute to the ongoing development of the global Billing training program, including travel to U.S. offices as needed.\nMaintain the Billing Knowledge Base and related process documentation to ensure information remains accurate, current, and accessible to the Billing team.\nCoordinate with Sidley IT and other internal teams on billing technology issues and action items, tracking progress and facilitating timely resolution.\nPerform due diligence and ad hoc analysis to support billing initiatives, process improvements, and informed decision-making.\nEducation and/or Experience:\nRequired:\nAssociate's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.\nA minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in billing, financial operations, financial analysis, operational analysis, or a related area.\nExperience evaluating business processes, conducting root cause analysis, and developing or implementing process improvements.\nExperience supporting or leading projects involving business processes, systems, or technology implementations.\nExperience with 3E or comparable legal billing or financial management technology.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.\nDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across functions and organizational levels.\nPreferred:\nBachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\nExperience working in a law firm or other professional services environment.\nExperience developing and delivering training or onboarding related to billing processes or technology.\nOther Skills and Abilities:\nThe following will also be required of the successful candidate:\nStrong organizational skills\nStrong attention to detail\nGood judgment\nStrong interpersonal communication skills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nAble to work harmoniously and effectively with others\nAble to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion\nAble to work under pressure\nAble to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities\n#LI-Hybrid\nThe target salary range for this role is:\n$148,200 to $211,150 if located in IllinoisSalaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
