The Manager will collaborate with the firm’s broader Learning & Development team, report to a Dallas-based Professional Development Director, and supervise, develop, and mentor a Dallas-based Professional Development Specialist.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nLawyer Orientation, Integration, and Training\nAssist in local and regional implementation of the firmwide strategic direction for attorney professional development.\n\nDevelop and deliver regional and firmwide training offerings that meet professional, business, and client-service goals. Propose, design, introduce, and support new initiatives as needed.\n\nCollaborate with the Director and appropriate firm committees to deliver and continually enhance attorney orientation programs and lateral attorney integration initiatives, coordinate and implement summer associate training, respond to identified training and development needs, and otherwise further attorney training and development.\n\nTrack and evaluate the quality and quantity of attorney training opportunities, including collecting relevant data and producing related reports.\n\nProduce professional development resources and craft professional development communications as needed.\n\nCLE Compliance\nAssist with and oversee the Professional Development Specialist’s tracking of lawyers' Texas CLE compliance.\n\nCommunicate with Texas-admitted lawyers in Dallas regarding their compliance status; work with the Professional Development Specialist, Director, and Office of General Counsel to help ensure 100% compliance for Texas-admitted lawyers firmwide.\n\nAssist with tracking other CLE compliance requirements for Texas-based attorneys licensed elsewhere, as identified and delegated by the Director.\n\nCareer Development and Mentoring\nPromote a work environment that helps lawyers reach their highest potential.\n\nCounsel lawyers on career-development matters as needed.\n\nHelp support firm mentoring programs, including implementing training and other resources for mentors and mentees.\n\nEmployee Development and Management\nHelp train, develop and mentor the Professional Development Specialist.\n\nConduct annual performance reviews.\n\nEducation and/or Experience:\nRequired:\nJ.D. degree\n\nA minimum of 5 years of work experience in learning and development, law, or related field\n\nA minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience\n\nAbility to format presentations, graphs, charts, and other visual methods of presenting information\n\nAbility to work effectively across offices and time zones\n\nAvailability to travel occasionally to other offices within the US\n\nPreferred:\nTexas practice experience\n\nAdult education and program design experience\n\nTeaching or public-speaking experience\n\nFamiliarity with CLE rules and regulations\n\nExperience with a global or national law firm\n\nOther Skills and Abilities:\nThe following will also be required of the successful candidate:\nSuperior relationship building skills and judgement\n\nExcellent written and oral communication skills\n\nStrong project management and organizational skills\n\nStrong attention to detail\n\nStrong interpersonal communication skills\n\nStrong analytical and problem solving skills\n\nAble to work harmoniously and effectively with others\n\nAble to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion\n\nAble to work under pressure\n\nAble to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities\n\nStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including the ability to create visual methods to present information\n\nThe target salary range for this role is:\n$124,000 - $155,000 if located in TexasSalaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
