Join us at Sidus Space to be part of something extraordinary and help shape the future of space access!\nJob Summary\nThe CNC (5 Axis) Programmer/Machinist is responsible for interpreting Technical Drawings and setting up metal working processes; work holding fixtures, process steps, equipment and tooling selection and running machinery in accordance with quality standards.\nThis position is 100% onsite, located in Cape Canaveral, Florida.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nInterpret technical drawings and use knowledge to setup metal working processes, work holding fixtures, process steps, equipment and tooling selection.\nWrite programs on 2&3 - 5 axis machines using Mastercam.\nSetup and prove out processes on 5 Axis CNC Mazak & Haas machines. Programmer will operate machine manually to perform non-automated functions and when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.\nMay fabricate dies, jigs and fixtures for work piece orientation or work holding.\nMonitor CNC processes and implement proactive solutions; process improvements, line flow, quality, efficiency\nDevelop machine set-ups, program edits, and working with tolerances to +/- .0001”\nMeasurement and inspection of parts using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and various other inspection equipment\n Other duties as assigned**\nRequired Skills\nAbility to read CAD models and 2-D prints and update paperwork neatly, accurately, and in an organized manner\nMust possess trouble-shooting skills and ability to think critically.\nMust be able to work independently, but also demonstrate an ability to work productively within a team environment.\nFlexible, ability to work in a fast pace constantly changing environment with tight deadlines.\nAbility to work with and provide feedback to various departments and customers within the shop and externally.\nRequired Education and Experience\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalent\nThree (3) years’ experience in 5 (3+2-axis) CNC programming and machining using Mastercam Software; applicants with at least 10 years of experience may be considered for a Senior level role.\nComplete working knowledge of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) and proficient in reading/understanding part manufacturing drawings\nExperience on Mazak & Haas machining centers. Experience with programming of several other CNC Milling centers and controls (Fanuc/Mazatrol/Heidenhain) a plus.\nMastery of high-speed machining and tool path optimization.\nPhysical Requirements\nProlonged period of standing and walking on hard surfaces\nRepetitive movement\nRequires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls\nCapable of bending, reaching and lifting objects weighing up to 35 lbs\nTravel Requirement\nAbility to travel < 10%\nShift/Schedule\nOnsite work Monday through Friday; day shift.
