Combining technical expertise with customer engagement, you'll work on everything from protection relay applications and system testing to solution development and customer support, alongside a highly experienced team of power system specialists.\nWe welcome applications from candidates at all stages of their career and are open to appointing at Applications Engineer, Senior Applications Engineer or Principal Applications Engineer level depending on experience and capability.\nWhat You'll Do\nWorking at the forefront of power system protection, you'll support a diverse range of projects involving SIPROTEC and Reyrolle protection relays, IEC 61850 digital substations, protection and control systems, and transmission and distribution networks. You'll work closely with customers and colleagues to develop solutions, provide technical expertise and help deliver reliable, resilient power infrastructure.\nDesign, configure, test and commission protection and control solutions for critical power infrastructure.\nDevelop protection schemes and support FAT, SAT and secondary injection testing activities.\nProvide technical support, troubleshooting, training and guidance to customers throughout the project lifecycle.\nWork directly with customers to understand technical challenges and develop effective engineering solutions.\nCollaborate with sales, tendering and project teams, contributing technical expertise to bids, proposals and customer presentations.\nSupport the development and application of new technologies and innovative protection solutions.\nBuild strong relationships with customers and colleagues while continuing to develop your technical knowledge within a supportive and highly experienced engineering team.\nEnsure Compliance by handling type registrations and ENA assessments for both transmission and distribution operators\nWhat We're Looking For\nDegree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.\nUnderstanding of electrical power systems and protection principles, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.\nA proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop new skills and technologies.\nDesirable\nExperience working within power systems, protection and control, substations, utilities or energy infrastructure.\nKnowledge of protection relays such as SIPROTEC, Reyrolle, SEL, ABB Relion, GE Multilin or equivalent products.\nExperience of protection relay configuration, commissioning or testing.\nUnderstanding of transmission and distribution network operations.\nExperience of IEC 61850 and associated communications protocols.\nFamiliarity with IEC 60870-5-103, Modbus, DNP3, Profibus or similar communication technologies.\nSecondary injection testing experience using OMICRON or equivalent equipment.\nKnowledge of substation design and control systems.\nExperience supporting customers in a technical, applications or pre-sales engineering environment.\nProgramming or scripting experience would be advantageous.\nIf you don't meet every requirement but believe your skills and experience are relevant, we'd still encourage you to apply.\nWhy Join Siemens?\nThis is an opportunity to join a highly experienced and collaborative team of power systems and protection specialists who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and sharing knowledge.
