THIS IS YOUR ROLE\nWe are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect - IoT & Digitalization to define and drive the cloud architecture for our next generation of digital products and IoT solutions.\nIn this role, you will take technical ownership of scalable, secure and highly available cloud architectures. You will work closely with Product Owners, Software Architects, developers, cybersecurity experts and globally distributed engineering teams to translate product requirements into robust cloud-native solutions.\nThe role provides an opportunity to influence architecture from edge to cloud, establish reusable technology patterns and enable engineering teams to build secure, scalable and maintainable digital solutions.\nYour key responsibilities\nAs a Cloud Architect, you will:\nDefine and drive end-to-end cloud architecture for IoT and digital applications.\nDesign scalable, resilient, secure and highly available cloud-native solutions.\nEstablish cloud architecture principles, reusable design patterns, standards and technology guidelines.\nTranslate business and product requirements into technical architecture and solution concepts.\nArchitect solutions based on microservices, containers, Kubernetes, serverless technologies and managed cloud services.\nDefine integration concepts using REST APIs, API gateways, event-driven architecture and messaging technologies.\nDesign cloud infrastructure covering networking, compute, storage, databases and platform services.\nDrive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated cloud provisioning approaches.\nEmbed security-by-design principles covering identity, authentication, authorization, encryption and secure communication.\nDefine architectural approaches for high availability, scalability, disaster recovery and performance.\nEnable DevOps/DevSecOps practices, automated CI/CD and cloud-native deployments.\nDefine observability concepts covering system monitoring, logging, metrics and alerting.\nEvaluate and recommend appropriate cloud technologies, platforms, frameworks and tools.\nLead architecture and design reviews and support teams in resolving complex technical issues.\nMentor engineering teams and promote cloud-native architecture and engineering practices.\nCollaborate with globally distributed R&D teams and other stakeholders on technology and product roadmaps.\nThese capabilities build on Siemens' existing internal architecture profiles, which cover microservices, APIs, messaging, container orchestration, serverless development, DevOps, observability, cloud networking, IaC, high availability and disaster recovery.\nWe are looking for someone with:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.\nStrong professional experience in software engineering, cloud technologies and solution architecture.\nProven experience designing scalable, secure and highly available cloud applications.\nStrong knowledge of cloud-native architecture and distributed systems.\nHands-on architectural experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.\nStrong understanding of microservices, Docker and Kubernetes.\nExperience with serverless architecture and managed cloud services.\nExperience designing REST APIs, API management and event-driven architectures.\nGood understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.\nStrong knowledge of cloud networking, security and identity/access management.\nExperience with CI/CD, DevOps and DevSecOps practices.\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform or comparable technologies.\nUnderstanding of observability, monitoring and logging concepts.\nStrong knowledge of software architecture principles, system design and design patterns.\nStrong analytical, debugging and problem-solving capabilities.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.\nAbility to technically lead, influence and mentor engineering teams.\nSiemens internal architecture material specifically references AWS/Azure/Google cloud experience, Terraform/AWS CloudFormation/Azure ARM Templates, DevOps, containerization, microservices and cloud security as relevant architectural capabilities.\nWE DON'T NEED SUPERHEROES, JUST SUPER MINDS!\nWE’VE GOT QUITE A LOT TO OFFER.
