Our aim isn’t just about improving buildings; it’s about creating perfect places that improve people’s lives.\nThe Engineering Operations Manager supports our growing EPS (Energy Performance Solutions) business. In this role, you will be responsible for all engineering activities for large performance contracting guaranteed energy savings projects within your area of responsibility. This position can be based out of any of our Southeast (FL, GA, NC, SC) branch locations. Work from home option is possible.\nAs the Operations Manager, you will:\nOversee supervision of a small team (typically 3-7) of energy engineers\nManage EPS project engineering and project development. Guide engineering development within the business including: savings calculations, project cost estimates, development cost estimates, sales support, and implementation support.\nSupervise engineering activities, manage engineers, manage labor utilization, and coordinate with sales team. Mentor teams through goal setting, employee review meetings, and project reviews.\nParticipate in all required project risk reviews and sales to operations turnover meetings. Review engineering design to verify proper application of engineering principles, code compliance, adequate safety factors for costs and savings, and proper documentation of scopes of work.\nDevelop engineering schedules and monitor progress to meet deadlines and budget. Determine resources needed to manage schedules.\nAssist sales team in the identification and qualification of potential performance contracting projects\nDevelop preliminary and final performance contracting proposals. Analyze blueprints and perform site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and controls systems to determine facility operational characteristics.\nApply building energy calculations to develop energy, cooling, and heating load building models using accepted Siemens calculation models. Develop design concepts and schematics concerning recommended FIMs, including scope of work descriptions, code deficiency evaluations, savings potential, cost estimates, and data to verify FIMs.\nPrepare financial models related to repayment, including Return on Investment (ROI), life cycle costs, and internal rate of return\nEvaluate energy supply side savings opportunities, including trash management, co-generation, water conservation, and renewable technologies for including into performance contracts\nCreate performance assurance plans and assist with performance contracting contract writing\nMonitor project performance, particularly those that guarantee savings\nIndependently manage energy and performance assurance plan development, implementation, and ongoing support\nIndependently manage site visits and proposal development\nUtilize financial and monthly forecasting tools and work with other team members to monitor, manage, and control costs\nMaintain business best practices, ensure LOA, and boundary conditions are adhered to\nExecute at a minimum Monthly Project Coordination (MPC) meetings for assigned projects\nYou will make an impact with these qualifications:\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field\nCertified Energy Manager or Professional Engineer\nMinimum of 5 years’ of Energy industry experience supporting performance based projects or energy services; Knowledge of energy supply side savings, and ability to evaluate savings potential.\nExperience with energy savings calculations, international and/or local building codes, and IMVP performance assurance methodologies\nMust be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCertified Energy Manager or Professional Engineer\nYou’ll benefit from:\nSiemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to our employees.
