By overseeing the entire product lifecycle, it supports customers in building agile, data-driven, and increasingly autonomous production environments.\nPosition Overview\nWe are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Global Project Lead to lead the execution of strategic development projects for the SIMATIC Engineering System. This role is responsible for driving end-to-end project delivery across globally distributed engineering teams located in Germany, India, and Romania, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality expectations. The ideal candidate combines strong project management capabilities with technical understanding of industrial automation software development and proven experience leading cross-functional, multicultural engineering teams. The role works closely with Product Management, Architecture, Test, Quality Assurance, other development projects, and Release Management to successfully deliver business objectives.\nKey Responsibilities\nGlobal Project Leadership\nLead end-to-end execution of global development projects for the SIMATIC Engineering System across Germany, India, and Romania.\nDefine project scope, milestones, schedules, deliverables, and execution plans aligned with product roadmap and business priorities.\nCoordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure predictable project execution and timely delivery.\nMonitor project progress, manage dependencies, identify risks, and drive proactive mitigation actions.\nEnsure transparent communication of project status, milestones, risks, and escalations to stakeholders.\nProject Delivery & Execution Excellence\nDrive delivery excellence by ensuring projects meet quality, schedule, cost, and scope objectives.\nCoordinate feature development, integration, testing, and release readiness across global development sites.\nFacilitate cross-functional collaboration between Product Management, Architecture, Development, Testing, DevOps, and Release Management.\nDrive continuous improvement in project execution, planning accuracy, estimation, and delivery predictability.\nEnsure adherence to software development processes, engineering standards, and quality management practices.\nStakeholder & Global Collaboration\nAct as the primary project interface for global stakeholders across Engineering, Product Management, Architecture, and Quality.\nFoster effective collaboration across multicultural and geographically distributed teams.\nAlign project priorities with business objectives while balancing technical constraints and resource availability.\nSupport decision-making through effective planning, risk assessment, and transparent communication.\nPromote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across project teams.\nEngineering Process & Innovation\nSupport adoption of modern software engineering practices including Agile methodologies, DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and AI-assisted engineering.\nDrive project-level initiatives to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and delivery efficiency.\nEncourage knowledge sharing, engineering reuse, and process standardization across global development teams.\nContribute to continuous enhancement of project management practices and engineering execution.\nQualifications\nProfessional Qualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.\nProven experience leading complex software development projects in multinational engineering organizations.\nExperience in industrial automation, distributed control systems, process control, or enterprise software development.\nStrong experience managing globally distributed, cross-functional project teams.\nDemonstrated success in delivering large-scale software projects with predictable quality, schedule, and budget performance.\nTechnical Expertise\nGood understanding of enterprise software development lifecycle and software engineering methodologies.\nKnowledge of industrial automation software, engineering systems, or distributed control systems.\nStrong programming and software engineering background, ideally including C/C++, C#, SQL, and related technologies.\nExperience in driving structured cross-team knowledge transfer for complex software products, enabling smooth ownership transitions, accelerated competency development, and effective collaboration across Germany, India, and Romania.\nExperience with Agile development, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.\nFamiliarity with AI-assisted software engineering, test automation, and engineering productivity tools is an advantage.\nUnderstanding of software architecture, release management, and quality assurance processes.\nLeadership Competencies\nStrong project leadership and execution capabilities.\nExcellent planning, coordination, and organizational skills.\nOutstanding stakeholder management and communication abilities.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive risk management approach.\nAbility to influence without formal authority and build alignment across global teams.\nProven ability to work effectively in multicultural and geographically distributed environments.\nWhy Us\nAt Siemens Software, flexibility is how we work-hybrid by default, built on trust and autonomy.
