Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Infrastructure Architect to lead, scale, and modernize our global Infrastructure operations. In this pivotal leadership role, you will own the end-to-end architecture, reliability, performance, and security of our multi-cloud SaaS platforms (AWS & Azure) supporting enterprise-grade customer workloads across multiple geographies.
Beyond core cloud architecture and operational leadership, the ideal candidate brings deep domain expertise in Siemens enterprise products-specifically Teamcenter-enabling us to architect robust, high-performance environments tailored for complex PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) workloads. You will act as the operational and architectural anchor, guiding a distributed team of engineers across India, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, and Egypt.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Infrastructure Leadership & Operations Management
- Operational Ownership: Assume full leadership responsibility for all global infrastructure operations, setting operational excellence standards, SLAs, and KPIs for availability, latency, and disaster recovery.
- Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead, inspire, and grow distributed InfraOps and platform engineering teams spanning multiple time zones (India, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Egypt). Foster a culture of automation, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Multi-Cloud Architecture (AWS & Azure): Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures. Drive the migration, optimization, and modernization of legacy infrastructure to modern cloud-native standards.
2. Siemens Teamcenter & Enterprise PLM Infrastructure Expertise
- PLM Infrastructure Mastery: Architect, deploy, and manage high-availability environments specifically optimized for Siemens Teamcenter and associated enterprise engineering software stacks.
- Performance & Scalability: Ensure optimal database performance, CAD data streaming/visualization efficiency (e.g., Visualization/VisMockup architectures), secure file management (FMS/FSC), and seamless multi-site deployments for global users.
- Integration & Lifecycle: Collaborate closely with AppOps, Solution Consultants, and FinOps teams to ensure Teamcenter environments integrate cleanly with CI/CD pipelines, identity providers, and monitoring frameworks.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & FinOps Alignment
- Consultative Partnership: Partner with customer-facing Solution Consultants and regional teams to transition technical delivery from "order-taking" to proactive cloud and platform consulting.
- Cost Optimization (FinOps): Work alongside FinOps to continuously audit, right-size, and optimize cloud infrastructure spending without compromising performance or uptime.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure all infrastructure operations adhere to stringent enterprise security baselines, compliance frameworks, and disaster recovery protocols.
Key Requirements
- Experience: 12+ years in IT infrastructure engineering, cloud architecture, and operations leadership, with at least 5+ years in a senior architect or director-level role managing global teams.
- Siemens Domain Expertise: Deep hands-on or architectural experience with Siemens Teamcenter (Deployment, Enterprise Architecture, 4-tier environments, FMS, Active Workspace) is a strong core requirement and significant differentiator.
- Cloud Mastery: Extensive, production-level experience architecting and operating enterprise SaaS platforms on AWS and Azure. Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert strongly preferred.
- Global Operations Experience: Proven track record of managing and developing technical operations teams across multiple regions and cultures (APAC, EMEA, LATAM).
- Modern Tooling & Automation: Strong advocacy for Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and observability stacks (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
What We Offer
- High Impact: Direct ownership of the infrastructure backbone powering mission-critical global SaaS operations.
- Global Collaboration: Work with a diverse, highly talented, and distributed team across 5 countries.
- Autonomy & Innovation: Empowered to modernize tech stacks, introduce cutting-edge automation, and shape the future of our enterprise cloud operations.
