The business delivers expert maintenance, technical support and digital solutions across the full lifecycle of rail fleets, helping customers maximise performance, availability and passenger satisfaction.\nWe are looking for a motivated Digital intern to join the Digital team at our train manufacturing facility in Goole. This is a hands-on role where you will support Digital project delivery across a range of technologies, from data engineering and automation to app development and SAP.\nYou will work directly alongside the IT Project Manager and gain real exposure to how digital tools support large-scale manufacturing operations. You will own deliverables, write real code, and see your work used on the shop floor.\nYou‘ll make a difference by:\nData & SQL: Write and optimise Snowflake SQL queries to extract and transform SAP production data. Support Power BI dashboards, reports, and data quality checks.\nAutomation: Build and maintain automations using Python, VBA, and Power Automate. This includes scheduled reports, form-processing workflows, and SharePoint integrations.\nApp Development: Assist with internal apps built on Mendix and Power Apps, including UI screens, data integrations, and testing.\nSAP Support: Help with SAP functional tasks such as master data queries, purchasing workflows, and production order tracking.\nProject Support: Contribute to steering committee updates, documentation, test scripts, and general project coordination across multiple workstreams.\nIT Hardware & Setup: Build and configure laptops for shopfloor colleagues, install operating systems, and ensure devices comply with Siemens IT policies and security standards.\nIn addition to your day-to-day role and learning, you will take part in a structured development programme consisting of professional skills training and coaching support.\nWhat you’ll need to succeed:\nWe are seeking innovative and inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following;\nCurrently studying (or recently graduated from) a degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.\nComfortable writing SQL queries. You do not need to be an expert, but you should know your way around SELECT, JOIN, and GROUP BY.\nSome experience with Python, VBA, or any scripting or programming language.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, SharePoint, Teams). Experience with Power BI or Power Platform is a bonus.\nGenuine curiosity about how IT systems work in a manufacturing environment.\nA self-starter attitude.
