The expected provider for this programme is London Southbank University.\nSiemens Mobility Mobile Communications delivers safe, efficient and reliable mission-critical systems for transport networks. These systems enable seamless data and voice exchange between vehicles, infrastructure, control centres and passengers, helping keep transport moving smoothly while improving the passenger experience.\nWorking across development, system testing and project delivery, you will gain experience of the complete lifecycle of our 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G railway radio communication products. This spans the generation of new ideas and requirements through design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing support.\nAt Mobile Communications, we manage every aspect of product development and delivery, working closely with customers to ensure successful deployment and long-term reliability. This provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full engineering lifecycle while contributing to mission-critical communication systems used throughout the Railway industry.\nThe role is based at our modern offices in New Fields Business Park, Poole. We operate a flexible hybrid working model, enabling a balance between office and home working where business needs allow. Some activities, such as system integration and testing in our laboratory facilities, require regular attendance on site. However, where tasks can be performed remotely, home working is fully supported. We are committed to flexible working and will normally accommodate individual preferences while meeting the needs of the business.\nYou‘ll make a difference by:\nWorking on the latest generation of mobile communication products deployed on railway networks around the world and seeing your work.\nCombine the agility and variety of a specialist engineering team with the opportunities and resources of the wider Siemens organisation.\n\nWhat you’ll need to succeed:\nA Levels at BBB including Mathematics and/or Physical Sciences (120 UCAS points) OR\nLevel 3 Rail Engineering Apprenticeship OR\nBTEC National Diploma DDM, including Level 3 Mathematics and Physical Sciences (128 UCAS points) OR\nEAL Technical Extended Diploma in Engineering Technologies, D, including: Further Engineering Mathematics; and other options relevant to Electrical, Mechanical or Civil engineering OR\nAccess to HE qualifications with 24 Distinctions and 21 Merits, with at least half the course in Mathematics and Physical Science subjects (122 UCAS points) OR\nEquivalent level 3 qualifications worth 120 UCAS points and including Mathematics and Physical Sciences\nApplicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above)\nLogical thinking, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving\nAbility to work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change\nEnjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions\nAs part of our recruitment process, all applicants for apprenticeship positions will be required to provide proof of qualifications achieved, as well as any qualifications in progress, prior to any job offer being made.
