The role combines deep enterprise IT engineering knowledge with strategic sourcing, technology vendor management and commercial leadership across Infrastructure, Hardware, Software, Cloud, Telecommunications and IT Services.\nThe role bridges IT and Procurement, working closely aligned with Siemens global commodity teams, India IT leadership and business stakeholders to deliver competitive, secure and scalable technology solutions. A strong technical foundation is essential; this is not a traditional procurement-only position.\nKey responsibilities\nIT commodity strategy & leadership\n· Develop and implement IT commodity strategies aligned with global frameworks and India business priorities.\n· Lead sourcing across IT infrastructure, hardware, software, cloud, telecommunications and managed services.\n· Drive standardization, demand aggregation, supplier consolidation, technology optimization and measurable savings.\nTechnical evaluation & solution shaping\n· Evaluate enterprise architectures, data centers, networks, cloud platforms, end-user computing, software and licensing models.\n· Challenge specifications constructively and identify technically viable alternatives based on performance, security, scalability and total cost of ownership.\n· Partner with IT Architecture, Engineering, Operations and Cybersecurity on technical feasibility, lifecycle and supplier decisions.\nStrategic sourcing & commercial management\n· Lead complex RFPs, technical-commercial evaluations, negotiations, contracting and supplier selection.\n· Build TCO models and business cases covering acquisition, implementation, licensing, maintenance and lifecycle costs.\n· Negotiate with OEMs, software providers, integrators and managed service partners to deliver value beyond price.\nSupplier, stakeholder & governance leadership\n· Manage strategic suppliers, performance, service levels, innovation roadmaps and supplier risks.\n· Influence senior IT and business stakeholders and collaborate effectively with global procurement teams.\n· Ensure procurement compliance, contractual discipline, cybersecurity coordination and transparent sourcing decisions.\n· Lead and develop teams and support IT transformation and continuous improvement.\nQualifications & experience\nEducation\n· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Telecommunications or related Engineering discipline.\n· MBA or relevant technology certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Cisco, TOGAF, ITIL) are advantageous.\nProfessional background\n· Preferably 12-18 years of relevant experience;
