You will work closely with team leadership, AI/ML and robotics specialists, backend engineers, frontend engineers, and DevOps engineers to shape a platform that can scale from early pilots to broader industrial deployment!\nWhat will you do?\n Define the end-to-end platform architecture across data ingestion, metadata management, APIs, workflow execution, connectors, and deployment foundations.\n Establish architectural principles for a modular platform that can support robotics data use cases today and broader Physical AI workflows over time.\n Design data contracts, service boundaries, integration patterns, and interface standards for robot, vision, edge, and research-facing systems.\n Shape the platform architecture for customer data onboarding, dataset versioning, validation, governance, and evaluation support.\n Define scalable patterns for workflow orchestration, asynchronous processing, event-driven services, and system observability.\n Collaborate with robotics integration engineers to define connector strategies for robot controllers, sensors, cameras, and other edge sources.\n Guide decisions around cloud-native services, storage layers, API security, deployment models, and production hardening.\n Ensure that the platform can evolve cleanly into future domain areas such as Level 3 skill enablement, validation harnesses, and task workflow execution.\n Mentor engineers across backend, integration, and platform domains and help raise overall technical quality.\n Contribute to architecture reviews, technical roadmaps, and build-vs-partner decisions where appropriate.\n What you will bring:\n Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Distributed Systems, Robotics, or a related field.\n Proven experience, typically 10+ years, in software architecture, platform engineering, backend systems, or large-scale distributed applications.\n Deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, APIs, event-driven design, security-by-design, and scalable data platforms.\n Strong experience defining architecture for complex, cross-functional products with multiple stakeholders and evolving requirements.\n Familiarity with industrial data systems, AI/ML platform patterns, or robotics-related software systems.\n Strong communication skills and the ability to explain architecture decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.\n Hands-on mindset with the ability to move between strategic architecture and implementation guidance.\n What sets you apart:\n Experience with robotics software systems, runtime platforms, workflow engines, ROS/ROS2, or edge integration.\n Experience in AI/ML data platforms, model evaluation platforms, or MLOps tooling.\n Exposure to industrial protocols, control-adjacent software environments, or real-time integration constraints.\n Experience helping new engineering teams establish architecture from the ground up.\n Why Join Us?\n Impact: Build the founding team and platform capability for a strategic Physical AI initiative in Canada.\n Innovation: Work at the intersection of robotics, AI, industrial software, workflow orchestration, and platform engineering.\n Leadership: Shape the direction, culture, and operating model of a new strategic engineering organization.\n Collaboration: Partner with leading global research, product, and engineering teams.\n Growth: Help define how Physical AI platform capabilities scale from data foundations to runtime-enabled industrial applications.\n Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience, and base salary ranges between $140,000 - $185,000 CAD excluding bonus and benefits.
