Siemens is a German technology conglomerate founded in Berlin in 1847 by Werner von Siemens around a telegraph that indicated letters rather than Morse code. After a decade of divestments it now concentrates on industry, infrastructure, transport and healthcare, supplying factory automation and control systems, building and grid technology, trains and signalling, and the Teamcenter and NX design software acquired through a long run of software purchases. The Siemens Xcelerator platform ties hardware to software and digital twins, and the group retains a majority stake in the separately listed medical imaging company Siemens Healthineers.

We are looking for an experienced procurement professional with strong expertise in project and capital procurement, supplier management, and industrial manufacturing environments who can thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven setting and contribute to the successful launch of a new manufacturing site.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Develop and establish a robust local and regional supplier network by identifying, qualifying, onboarding, and managing suppliers to support facility construction and production ramp-up.
  • Drive sourcing and procurement of capital equipment, construction services, utilities, and facility-related requirements through competitive bidding, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract award recommendations.
  • Partner with Project Controls and Finance teams to ensure procurement activities remain aligned with approved budgets, capital expenditure plans, and project milestones.
  • Negotiate and manage commercial contracts, service agreements, statements of work, and change orders while collaborating with Legal and key stakeholders to protect business interests.
  • Establish supplier performance management frameworks, including quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness KPIs, to ensure reliable and sustainable supply chain performance.
  • Act as the procurement lead across cross-functional project teams, collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, IT, and EHS functions to support project execution objectives.
  • Develop strategic sourcing plans and leverage global and regional procurement strategies, corporate agreements, and total cost of ownership assessments to optimize procurement outcomes.
  • Implement and standardize procurement processes, systems, and governance structures while ensuring data accuracy and compliance within ERP and eProcurement platforms.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, compliance requirements, delegated authority guidelines, competitive bidding standards, and audit expectations.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives, proactively identify supply chain risks, and implement mitigation plans to support uninterrupted project execution and business continuity.
  • Support long-term operational readiness by establishing scalable procurement frameworks that enable manufacturing growth and future expansion plans.

What You Bring

  • 10-12 years of progressive experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Project Procurement, or Project Management roles within the electrical equipment manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience supporting Greenfield projects, new manufacturing facility setups, major plant expansions, or large-scale industrial infrastructure projects.
  • Strong expertise in procurement of capital equipment, construction-related spend, facility services, utilities, and indirect procurement categories.
  • Extensive exposure to electrical commodities and equipment, preferably within the Power Transformer, Transmission, or Energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of supplier qualification processes, supplier development programs, quality management systems, and supply risk assessment methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating complex commercial agreements and managing supplier relationships within a project-based manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and project procurement methodologies, including contractor management, subcontracting models, and common contract structures such as lump-sum, unit-rate, and time & material agreements.
  • Proficiency with ERP and procurement platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or similar supply chain management systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with a strong focus on cost optimization and operational efficiency.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions and organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to lead procurement initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic, project-driven environment while maintaining focus on business objectives and deadlines.
