In this role, you will work on cutting-edge 7nm and 5nm designs with various customers for the deployment of Aprisa place and route tools. You will be an expert in solving critical design challenges to achieve desired performance, area, and power targets. You will develop flows and methodologies for placement, CTS, and routing while providing training and technical support to customers using Aprisa tools. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility while enabling you to travel across India and globally to support our customers and teams shaping the future of semiconductor design.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and optimize placement, CTS, and routing flows and methodologies for complex block and full-chip designs using Aprisa tools.\nProvide expert technical support and training to customers deploying Aprisa place and route tools for 7nm and 5nm designs.\nSolve critical design problems to achieve desired performance, area, and power targets for complex semiconductor designs.\nIdentify and resolve timing, power, and area trade-offs using deep domain expertise and optimization techniques.\nCollaborate with R&D teams to develop signoff-ready ECO flows and drive correlation improvements.\nProactively triage and resolve customer issues and JIRAs, driving solutions through to completion with ownership mentality.\nLeverage AI tools (e.g., Copilot, AI-assisted scripting) to optimize workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and accelerate debugging.\nProvide clear cross-functional communication between customers, R&D, and internal teams to ensure project success.\n\nQualifications\n2-4 years of hands-on experience in Physical Design (floorplan, placement, CTS, routing) and timing closure of complex blocks and/or full-chip designs.\nProven experience with commercial place and route tools such as Synopsys-ICC2, Cadence-Innovus, or Aprisa.\nTapeout experience on 2 or more projects.\nStrong understanding of timing, power, and area trade-offs in semiconductor design.\nHighly skilled in leveraging AI tools (e.g., Copilot, AI-assisted scripting) to optimize workflows, debug, and automate repetitive tasks.\nExcellent verbal and written communication abilities with strong presentation and problem-solving skills.\nExperience with Static Timing Analysis (STA) tools such as PrimeTime and Tempus is preferred.\nAdditional Preferred Qualifications\nExperience with multiple voltage islands and top-level floor-planning and chip-assembly.\nBE/B.Tech in Electronics and Communication (E&C), Electrical, or Telecom Engineering; ME/M.Tech in VLSI or Microelectronics is a plus.\nAbility to pick up new flows, learn on the job, and drive quality of results improvements.\n\nWhy Us\nWe are Siemens:\nAt Siemens Software, flexibility is how we work-hybrid by default, built on trust and autonomy.
