This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving safe, high-quality, and efficient assembly operations while developing employees, promoting accountability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Quality, Engineering, Scheduling, Procurement, and other production teams, you will play an important role in meeting customer commitments and ensuring operational success, while providing support to machining and welding operations as needed.\n\nWhat your day may look like:\nLead, coach, and develop a production team through performance management, training, and ongoing feedback while fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and engagement.\nPlan, coordinate, and prioritize bogie assembly operations to meet production schedules, quality standards, inspection requirements, and shipping commitments.\nMonitor production performance, identify constraints, investigate root causes of issues, and implement corrective actions that improve safety, quality, and productivity.\nProvide leadership and technical support to assembly operations while partnering with machining, welding, Quality, Engineering, Scheduling, and Procurement teams to resolve challenges and drive results.\nChampion a Zero Harm culture by ensuring compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, company policies, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nThis posting outlines the primary responsibilities of the role, but is not all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned in alignment with business needs.\n\nWhat will make you successful in this role:\nHigh school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.\n5+ years of production supervision experience in a manufacturing environment, with a proven ability to lead, coach, and develop hourly teams while fostering accountability, engagement, and a strong safety culture.\nDemonstrated success driving improvements in safety, quality, schedule adherence, productivity, and cost through continuous improvement initiatives and data-driven decision-making.\nStrong leadership, communication, and team-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Production, Quality, Engineering, Scheduling, Procurement, and other support functions.\nExperience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, troubleshooting production challenges, and implementing effective corrective actions; working knowledge of mechanical and electrical assembly processes, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and SAP experience preferred.\nRail or rolling stock manufacturing experience is a plus.\nApplicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.\nPurpose is the reason a company exists.
