It helps our customers to thrive, communities to progress and supports sustainable development to protect our planet for the next generation.\nMission/Function of the role:\nProject Managers are overall responsible for the design, development, and management of customer projects, according to defined Project Management (PM@Siemens) standards and customer requirements, with responsibility for economic results.\nWhat are the responsibilities of the role?\nConsults with customers on technical solutions, together with the Sales Manager or Key Account Manager. \nClarifies customers’ targets and requirements, and/or specification in request for proposal (RFP). \nPrepares participation in tender and leads negotiation with customers. \nCoordinates overall planning of the project and decides on allocation of resources together with relevant stakeholders.\nClarifies specification and continuously liaises with other internal departments involved ensuring clear KPI’s for all team members. \nMonitors milestone and adherence to budgets, and initiates actions to minimize non-conformance cost.\nReviews project risks and ensures that appropriate mitigation measures are put in place by following the contractual claims procedure to maximise opportunities. \nMaintains constant communication to customers, outside contractors or other stakeholders with minutes of meetings being distributed to all relevant parties.\nMay coordinate agreed commissioning measures onsite, together with Engineering.\nAdheres to PM standards and Business Conduct Guidelines (e.g., Tax regulations, Export Control, EHS, Quality Control).\nManages and coordinates all temporarily assigned project staff.\nSets necessary measures to ensure zero harm policy in environment, health and safety.\nQualifications and Experience\nRelevant tertiary Degree/Diploma, preferably an Electrical Engineering qualification or similar.\nA South African recognised Project Management qualification or PM@siemens certification.\nMust have min 3-.5 years’ experience with NEC3.\nFIDIC experience would be advantageous\n5-8 years’ experience in electrical engineering sector preferably MV or renewables \n5-8 years’ experience in project management with full profit and loss responsibility.\nStrong Administration and time management skills.\nAdvanced interpersonal skills \nAbility to lead virtual project team/s to a successful implementation across countries.\nExcellent intercultural skills to cooperate with customers throughout sub-Saharan Africa.\nAttributes and skills\nStrong Administration and time management skills. \nAdvanced interpersonal skills \nAbility to lead virtual project team/s to a successful implementation across countries. \nExcellent intercultural skills to cooperate with customers throughout sub-Saharan Africa. \nMust be willing to travel. \nOur culture:\nOur culture embraces different perspectives, open debate, and the will to challenge convention.
