Who knows where our shared journey will take you?\nTransform the everyday with us!\nIn this role you will work a hybrid work model sharing time between a home office and our Vance, AL facility.\nWe are looking for a Senior Controls Engineer - Siemens PLCs to join our automation engineering team supporting major automotive customers.\nIn this role, you will design, program, test, and commission automation systems built on Siemens SIMATIC platforms. You will help ensure system performance, reliability, and safety from the initial concept through customer startup and final handover. This is an opportunity to apply your controls engineering expertise in fast-paced commissioning environments and see your work come to life on the plant floor.\nYou’ll make an impact by:\n Developing, testing, and commissioning PLC and HMI software for Siemens automation systems using STEP 7, TIA Portal, and WinCC.\n Integrating control software with electrical and mechanical systems used in automotive production equipment.\n Planning and executing the commissioning of individual components and complete automation systems at customer locations.\n Programming assembly systems, including conveyor systems and process equipment.\n Troubleshooting and optimizing system performance to support the integration and reliable operation of all automation components.\n Integrating industrial safety systems, drives, motion-control equipment, and industrial networks.\n Preparing detailed commissioning documentation, system records, and test reports.\n Participating in system acceptance testing and performance verification.\n Training customer personnel and completing the technical handover of commissioned systems.\n Supporting or leading on-site commissioning teams, depending on project requirements.\n You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:\nBasic Qualifications:\n Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.\n 5+years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and controls engineering.\n Demonstrated expertise programming Siemens SIMATIC PLC and HMI platforms, including STEP 7, TIA Portal, and WinCC.\n Advanced experience programming assembly systems, including conveyor systems and process equipment.\n Working knowledge of industrial safety systems, such as SICK PLS or an equivalent platform.\n Experience with industrial drives and motion-control systems, including Siemens, SEW, Lenze, or comparable technologies.\n Working knowledge of industrial communication networks, including PROFINET.\n Proficiently in English, both verbally and in writing.\n Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.\n Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.\n Preferred Qualifications:\n Industrial automation or controls engineering experience within the automotive industry.\n Certified Machinery Safety Expert certification from Pilz, or an equivalent machinery-safety certification.\n Knowledge of Mercedes-Benz WAVE, Volkswagen VASS, or BMW TMO standards.\n German-language proficiency.\n About Siemens:\nWe are a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare.
