Connected with this is an exciting career path that leads you to ever new projects and solutions in the field of IT for Siemens Mobility.\nWe are looking for a Senior Data Engineer\nYou’ll make a difference by:\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable end-to-end data pipelines (ELT) on modern cloud platforms (especially Snowflake)\nDefine and evolve the target data architecture (Data Warehouse / Data Platform) in alignment with business and IT strategy\nEstablish and implement data modeling standards, naming conventions, and architectural guidelines across domains\nBuild and optimize performant data models (staging, core/transform, mart layers) following standard processes\nImplement and continuously improve CI/CD processes for dbt projects (deployment, testing, versioning)\nEnsure high data quality through testing frameworks, constraints, monitoring, and data quality checks\nDesign and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for production data pipelines\nAnalyze, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents while continuously improving platform stability\nOptimize performance of SQL transformations and data workflows\nTranslate sophisticated business requirements into scalable technical data solutions with measurable impact\nCollaborate closely in a Data Mesh Setup with data analysts, architecture teams, and business collaborators in the Domain Project to deliver data-driven use cases\nCreate and maintain technical documentation and actively shape data engineering standard processes\nSupport user adoption through documentation, knowledge sharing, and enablement initiatives.\nYou’ll win us over by:\n7+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Analytics Engineering\nStrong expertise in SQL and hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (preferably Snowflake)\nPractical experience with dbt (ideally dbt Cloud)\nProven ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable data architectures and solutions\nDeep understanding of modern data architectures (ELT principles, layered approach, Data Mesh, data products)\nProven experience in building scalable data pipelines and data models\nExperience with data quality frameworks, monitoring, and governance concepts\nExperience in defining data architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices\nExperience working in multi-functional teams (IT, business stakeholders, external partners)\nNice to Have\nExperience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)\nFamiliarity with Cloud services (e.g., AWS: S3, Glue)\nExperience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and reporting solutions\nBasic understanding of AI use cases and data preparation (e.g. Snowflake Cortex Semantic Models)\nExperience in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)\nExperience in defining or working with enterprise architecture frameworks\nDomain knowledge in areas such as Project & Finance\nWhat Sets You Apart\nYou think not only end-to-end, but also architecturally and strategically across domains\nYou combine technical excellence with a strong architectural attitude\nYou are proactive, solution-oriented, and quality-driven\nYou take ownership and drive topics independently.\nJoin us and be yourself!\nWe value your outstanding identity and perspective and are fully committed to providing equitable opportunities and building a workplace that reflects the diversity of society.
