Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.\nResponsibilities\nArchitect, design, and lead development of scalable, high-quality software products (internal and external), ensuring reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.\nOwn end-to-end technical design, including system architecture, component design, data models, APIs, and integration patterns across multiple product areas.\nAct as technical lead for complex projects: provide technical direction, break down requirements, estimate work, and guide the team through implementation and delivery.\nDrive architectural decisions and innovation, including modernization initiatives (e.g., microservices, cloud readiness, performance optimization).\nEnsure overall functional and non-functional quality of released products across all required platforms and deployment mechanisms.\nCollaborate closely with product managers, architects, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.\nLead and participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and code reviews, setting and enforcing engineering best practices.\nMentor and coach engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, and formal/informal training sessions.\nProactively identify technical debt, scalability risks, and quality gaps, and define plans to address them.\nChampion clean code, SOLID principles, design patterns, and test-driven development across the team.\nParticipate in and lead an Agile/Scrum team, contributing across the full software lifecycle: requirements, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.\nServe as a technical point of contact for management and cross-functional teams, clearly communicating trade-offs, risks, and recommendations.\nLead by example in coding standards, system design, documentation, and operational excellence.\nRequired Experience & Qualifications\nBS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\n8+ years of professional experience building large-scale, web-based client/server applications.\nDeep, hands-on expertise in Java (Java 11+) and Java EE, including Core Java and enterprise application development.\nStrong experience with system architecture and design, including distributed systems, microservices, and API-driven architectures.\nExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).\nExposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and production monitoring.\nPrior experience in modernizing legacy systems or large monolithic applications.\nProven experience designing and developing applications using modern Java frameworks such as Spring / Spring MVC (JSF, GWT experience a plus).\nSolid understanding of RESTful APIs, messaging systems, integration patterns, and service-to-service communication.\nStrong knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, common design patterns, and enterprise application best practices.\nExperience with test-driven development (TDD) and building automated test strategies.\nHands-on experience with version control systems such as Git, Subversion, or TFS.\nWorking knowledge of Eclipse RCP and plugin development (preferred).\nDeep understanding of Java and JEE internals, including class loading, memory management, concurrency, and transaction management.\nDemonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, and influence architectural decisions.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nWe are Siemens\nA collection of over 377,000 minds building the future, one day at a time in over 200 countries.
