You will work closely with software developers, CFD experts, and users to understand technical requirements and translate them into intuitive, reliable, and high-performance software solutions.\nThe role provides an opportunity to work across C/C++, Python, Tcl, GUI technologies, CFD, and engineering software, while contributing to a product used in complex engineering workflows.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop core product capabilities: Design, implement, test, and enhance software features for the HMCFD graphical user interface using C/C++ and appropriate software engineering practices.\nBuild intuitive engineering interfaces: Develop and maintain GUI functionality that enables engineers to efficiently prepare CFD models, interact with simulation data, and perform pre- and post-processing activities.\nSolve complex technical problems: Analyze user and product requirements, investigate technical challenges, and develop robust, maintainable solutions for complex engineering workflows.\nDevelop automation and customization: Use Python and Tcl scripting to automate workflows, customize solutions, and improve productivity for specific CFD applications and user requirements.\nCollaborate across engineering teams: Work closely with software developers, CFD specialists, product teams, and users to understand requirements and deliver effective product capabilities.\nEnsure software quality: Perform development-level testing and QA activities, troubleshoot defects, and contribute to maintaining the reliability and usability of the product.\nSupport product adoption: Contribute to technical documentation, user tutorials, and other technical content that helps customers and internal users effectively utilize HMCFD capabilities.\n\nQualifications\nMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\nStrong hands-on programming experience in C/C++, with the ability to develop maintainable and production-quality software.\nProficiency in Python and/or Tcl scripting for automation, customization, and engineering workflows.\nExperience developing GUI-based applications, with a good understanding of user interface design and software interaction patterns.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex requirements and translate them into practical software solutions.\nWorking knowledge of both Linux and Windows operating systems and experience developing or supporting software in a multiplatform environment.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with software developers, engineering experts, and end users.\n\nPreferred Experience\nExperience with Qt and/or OpenGL.\nBasic to intermediate knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and common CFD workflows.\nExperience with Simcenter HyperWorks or other CAE/engineering software.\nExperience with CAD modeling or visualization software.\nKnowledge of Finite Element Method (FEM) and structural analysis.\nExperience developing software for engineering, scientific, simulation, or visualization applications.\nFamiliarity with scripting-driven engineering workflows and application customization.\n\nWhy Us\nAt Siemens Software, flexibility is how we work - hybrid by default, built on trust and autonomy.
