Then it seems like you’d make a great addition to our vibrant international team.\nWe are looking for a System Architect - Automation Train Protection Systems\nYou’ll make a difference by:\nWe are seeking an experienced System Architect to lead the design and specification of Automatic Train Protection (ATP) systems in the railway domain. This role focuses on embedded safety-critical systems and requires deep expertise in SIL4-compliant architectures, systems thinking, and stakeholder collaboration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with train protection technologies such as Kavach (TCAS), PTC, ETCS, and TCAS.\n Key Responsibilities:\nSystem Architecture & Design\nDefine and maintain System Requirements Specifications (SRS) and System Architecture Specifications (SAS).\nDevelop and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and ensure seamless integration across subsystems.\nEnsure system design complies with SIL4 safety standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129).\nApply systems thinking to analyze, design, and optimize complex embedded systems.\nQuickly understand base solutions and adapt them to meet evolving customer and regulatory requirements.\nUtilize UML modeling for system design and documentation.\nApply simulation tools to validate system behavior and performance under various operational scenarios.\nQuickly Understanding base solutions and defining reuse approach.\nStakeholder Management\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, safety, and validation.\nEngage with customers, certification bodies, and railway operators to align system design with expectations.\nLead technical discussions and ensure traceability of requirements through the development lifecycle.\n Domain Expertise\nApply knowledge of Train Protection Systems such as:\nKavach (TCAS) - Indian Train Collision Avoidance System.\nPTC - Positive Train Control (USA).\nETCS - European Train Control System.\nUnderstand operational scenarios, fail-safe mechanisms, and interoperability requirements.\nTechnical Leadership\nGuide engineering teams in implementing system-level designs and safety architectures.\nSupport safety case development, validation, and certification processes.\nEvaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and technologies for system development.\nRequired Skills & Qualifications:\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field.\n15+ years of experience in embedded systems architecture, preferably in railway or other safety-critical domains.\nProven experience with SIL4-compliant system design and safety lifecycle processes.\nStrong understanding of real-time systems, microcontrollers, and communication protocols.\nFamiliarity with tools like DOORS, Enterprise Architect, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE).\nProficiency in UML design and system modeling.\nExperience with simulation environments for embedded systems validation.\n Generic Skills & Experience:\nStrong foundation in systems thinking and architectural abstraction.\nStrong experience in handing of Nonfunctional requirements at architectural level\nExperience with requirement engineering, traceability, and change management.\nFamiliarity with Agile, V-Model, or hybrid development lifecycles.\nExposure to configuration management and version control tools (e.g., Git, SVN).\nUnderstanding of formal verification, validation, and safety case development.\nBackground in programming languages such as C/C++, Python.\nExperience in system integration and managing cross-domain dependencies.\n Preferred Experience:\nHands-on experience with Kavach (TCAS), PTC, ETCS, or similar ATP systems.\nExposure to railway signaling, onboard control systems, and interoperability frameworks.\nExperience with formal methods, hazard analysis, and safety documentation.\nSoft Skills:\nStrong analytical and systems thinking.\nExcellent communication and documentation skills and stack holder management experience\nAbility to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex technical programs.\nYour success is grounded in:\n15+ years of experience is required.\nGreat Communication skills.\nAnalytical and problem-solving skills\nJoin us and be yourself!\nWe value your unique identity and perspective and are fully committed to providing equitable opportunities and building a workplace that reflects the diversity of society.
