We undertake the full engineering delivery life cycle across various projects.\nSiemens Mobility Limited have a fantastic opportunity for Telecoms Design Engineer for our Rail Infrastructure CIS business. The role is based in our Glasgow office and offers a flexible working policy with a mix of office based and remote working. Reporting to the Telecoms Design Manager, the Design Engineer will undertake the delivery of the engineering design aspects of Telecoms tenders and projects within agreed timescales and budgeted cost and is responsible for its contribution to overall business performance.\nThis role is classified as safety critical and is subject to a pre-employment medical assessment, which must be successfully completed prior to start.\nYou’ll make a difference by\nDelivery of Telecoms engineering designs / activities to the agreed time, cost, quality, safety and performance requirements\nCompleting Telecoms engineering tasks to deliver system development and implementation, including interfacing with sub-contractors where applicable\nProducing Telecoms engineering technical and Health and Safety documentation deliverables to meet project requirements\nPlanning, co-ordinating and managing Telecoms engineering tasks including resources and equipment to deliver tasks effectively and efficiently\nSupporting the provision of estimating for engineering projects and tenders regarding engineering resources, plans, technology, risk and process\nEnsuring the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools are applied throughout the engineering life cycle.\nYour role profile may vary from time to time in accordance with business needs. Your annual objective setting with your line manager will outline any additional responsibilities required to meet business or individual development needs for the forthcoming financial year.\nWhat you’ll need to succeed\nFull UK driving licence\nExperience in a Telecoms engineering environment\nProven success in design and delivery of Operational Telecommunications systems preferably in the rail environment.\nHNC/HND or equivalent in relevant subject and incorporated Engineer or equivalent status is advantageous\nIRSE License in Telecoms Design (or working towards IRSE License in Telecoms Design)\nExperience and knowledge of implementation project engineering processes covering development, design, construction, test, commissioning and handover is desirable.\nYou’ll benefit from\nAt Siemens, we believe that work should work for you.
