As part of our Rail Infrastructure business, you’ll join a team that is transforming how people and goods move, making rail travel safer, smarter, greener, and more efficient.\nWe are recruiting three Trainee Installation Team Leaders to join our Rail Automation business within Rail Infrastructure, based in Birmingham or Manchester. You will initially join as a trainee, following a structured development plan designed to build your technical knowledge, practical skills and leadership capabilities. With the right training and support, you will progress towards becoming a fully competent member of the Construction Team.\nAs you develop in the role, you will take responsibility for planning, managing and carrying out site installation activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards. You will also take a proactive approach to identifying and communicating issues, coordinating actions and highlighting potential risks to support successful project delivery.\nThis role is classified as safety critical and is subject to a pre-employment medical assessment, which must be successfully completed prior to start.\nYou’ll make a difference by\nActing as a trainee, with the aim of becoming a team leader for installation teams within 2-3 years.\nOrganizing and planning work to maximize utilization of resources.\nOrganizing and controlling the work undertaken by staff and contractors allocated and to ensure that it is carried out safely.\nResponsibly managing the personal safety and the administration, of allocated staff and contractors.\nEnsuring that the briefing of instructions to staff under his control or allocated to him for such purpose is carried out timely.\nChecking and certifying time sheets ensuring correct hour booking and appropriation.\nTimekeeping and discipline of staff/Agency workers under his/her control.\nYour role profile may vary from time to time in accordance with business needs. Your annual objective setting with your line manager will outline any additional responsibilities required to meet business or individual development needs for the forthcoming financial year.\nWhat you’ll need to succeed\nMechancial/electrical engineering background - either formal education or work experience\n5 GCSEs Grade C or above\nExcellent communications skills\nMust be prepared to work on day and night shifts as required by operational circumstances regularly\nDriving License\nExperience in railway signalling installation (Desirable)\nExperience in supervising staff or leading team (Desirable)\nYou’ll benefit from\nAt Siemens, we believe that work should work for you.
