Our co-founders are Bret Taylor and Clay Bavor. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
What you’ll do
Manage end-to-end accounting close
Accountable for ensuring timely close across all global entities
Maintain accurate supporting documentation and reconciliations
Review accuracy and completeness of expenses including developing robust accrual process
Prepare intercompany journal entries in compliance with intercompany agreements
Prepare consolidation entries (revaluation, translation, and eliminations)
Assist with the preparation of the monthly reporting package including period-over-period analysis
Oversee daily accounting operations
Manage the proper coding of vendor bills, corporate credit cards, and employee reimbursements
Oversee timely application of global cash within the ERP
Coordinate with payroll to review payroll journal entries and ensure all required payroll taxes are paid
Lead preparation of audit preparedness
Coordinate with external auditors for timely submission of all required requests (Global Audit and local Statutory Audits)
Proactive involvement in Finance Transformation initiatives to leverage AI and tooling to scale
Enhance or upgrade our our tech stack to enable the latest in AI technology
Challenge our processes and develop AI first approach
What you'll bring
5-10 years with a mix of public (highly regulated) and private (hyper growth)
Proficient in US GAAP (revenue recognition, lease accounting, stock based compensation, etc)
Ability to identify areas for improvement and build solutions using AI
Desire to drive operational efficiency to scale the accounting function
A structured, self-directed, detail-oriented builder and problem solver who can design a process where none exists, run it, and improve it over time without being managed toward it.
