{"id":2401384,"url":"https://alion.io/job/sierra-circuits-inc-x-section-lab-technician","title":"X - Section Lab Technician","company":{"id":2552128,"name":"Sierra Circuits, Inc.","domain":"protoexpress.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/protoexpress","size_band":"201-500","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"ADP","truth_index":{"grade":"C","score":66,"open_postings":32,"ghost_share":0.563,"stale_share":0,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":null,"computed_at":"2026-10-22T06:10:10Z"}},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":"junior","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Sunnyvale, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":21,"max":26,"currency":"USD","period":"hour","gross":null,"usd_annual":52000},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":1,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-06T18:57:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-06","last_verified_at":"2026-10-23T01:19:59Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":16,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":0,"flags":["company_stale"],"days_open":15},"description":"SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:\nThe Lab Technician is responsible for preparing, evaluating, reporting and keeping records of cross sections as required by the manufacturing travelers or as directed by Managers.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nCross Section Lab Technician\nPrepare cross section specimens and mounts by grinding, polishing and viewing of internal and external observable features and characteristics of printed circuit boards.\nReport measurements, anomalies and acceptability of the specimens in the context of specified requirements.\nUse Metallurgical Microscope and Computer workstation to generate photomicrographs and various reporting documents using Microsoft Word and Excel.\nPrepare reports of cross sections for customer documentation as required.\nOrder lab analysis and submit samples as scheduled or as needed and maintain orderly files of the results.\nConduct testing and evaluate the results of printed circuit boards as required. \nUse the Omega Meter to measure and report ionic contamination of the printed circuit board surfaces. \nMaintain instrument as directed by the user manual.\nWear Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves, protective glasses, face-shields, ear muffs/protection, etc. when required. \nInform Managers of any potential problems.\nMaintain excellent attendance and be punctual.\nPerform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.\nMicrosection preparation and analysis (Xlab-001) for in process and final.\nMicrosection lab report (IPC& Mil-Spec) (Xlab-001-01) final.\nFollow the daily priority list from production control center. \n\nQUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS- EXPERIENCE:\nExcellent oral and written communication skills. \nExceptional multi-tasking, organizational skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy.\nStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of management\nSelf-motivator and a sense of ownership and urgency.\nMust be able to maintain confidentiality & professionalism at all times.\nHigh School Diploma preferred. \n1-2 years experience in cross sectioning of printed circuit boards.\nAbility to read and understand technical drawings and work instructions.\nAbility to evaluate cross section for compliance to required specifications.\nGood mechanical aptitude and visual acuity for prolonged sessions using microscopes\nGood mathematical accuracy in the reading and reporting of cross section specimens. \nGood computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, and the ability to learn new skills and tasks as required.\nAbility to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds maximum.\nAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves, protective glasses, face-shields, etc. Must not be allergic to common forms of rubber and plastic use for PPE.\nAbility to stand and walk throughout the day.\nAbility to follow procedures and maintain quality of products at all time.\n Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced and increased sound environment.\nSUPERVISES: None\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
