The position involves assisting in the analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical systems and components, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing technical documentation and reports. The role requires clear communication skills, the ability to follow instructions effectively, and a collaborative approach to achieving project goals and meeting deadlines.In this role, you will assist senior engineers in the analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical systems and components. You will collect and analyze data related to mechanical systems, propulsion, structures, structural analysis, or environmental systems to support engineering objectives. Additionally, you will contribute to the resolution of routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity. Preparing technical documentation and reports to communicate findings and support project objectives will be a key part of your responsibilities. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nRequires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).\nTypically entry-level 0 - 2 years of experience.\nBasic understanding of Mechanical Engineering technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts.\nBasic application and use of technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts.\nAbility to help develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity.\nAbility to work in a team and follow guidance from senior engineers.\nClear verbal and written communication of technical concepts and information.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nInternship or co-op experience in a mechanical engineering or related environment.\nFamiliarity with design, analysis, and test methods related to mechanical systems, propulsion, structures, and/or environmental systems.\nFamiliarity with engineering CAD tools such as NX, SolidWorks, or similar including a familiarity with detail drawing standards and GD&T.\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nEagerness to learn and develop new skills in a collaborative and dynamic work environment.\nFamiliarity with manufacturing processes, material sciences, and their impact on mechanical systems.\nCompensation:\nPay Range:\n$77,234.00 - $106,196.75Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.\nElevate Your Career\nAt Sierra Space, we are committed to your personal and professional development.
