This position requires an intermediate understanding of electrical circuits and components, as well as proficiency with electrical design tools and equipment. The successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot and solve more complex problems, working under the guidance and mentorship of more experienced engineers. The RF Engineer II will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development and integration of RF systems, meeting performance and reliability requirements. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively are essential for this role.In this role, you will design and develop RF systems and components for space-based applications, conducting performance testing and validation of RF systems, including antennas, transmitters, receivers, and RF amplifiers. You will utilize electrical design tools and equipment to perform intermediate design tasks and troubleshoot more complex problems related to RF systems and components. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure project success and seamless integration of RF systems into larger systems. You will follow instructions and guidance from more experienced engineers while preparing and maintaining technical documentation and reports to ensure traceability and compliance with industry standards. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nRequires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).\nTypically 2+ years of related experience.\nIntermediate understanding of electrical circuits and components.\nIntermediate understanding of electrical design tools and equipment.\nIntermediate understanding of design tasks.\nAbility to troubleshoot and solve more complex problems.\nAbility to learn, receive instruction and mentorship from more experienced engineers.\nBasic knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation.\nBasic knowledge of systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProficiency with RF design and simulation tools such as ADS, HFSS, or CST.\nExperience with RF measurement equipment, including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.\nUnderstanding of RF system performance parameters such as gain, noise figure, and linearity.\nExperience with PCB design and layout tools such as Altium Designer or OrCAD.\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nExcellent communication and teamwork abilities.\nWillingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in RF engineering.\nCompensation:\nPay Range:\n$93,075.00 - $127,999.50Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.\nElevate Your Career\nAt Sierra Space, we are committed to your personal and professional development.
