The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.\nKey Responsibilities:\nConduct advanced design and analysis of structural systems, demonstrating expertise in structural analysis through hand calculations and finite element methods.\nApply extensive technical expertise while maintaining a working knowledge of related disciplines to address complex engineering challenges.\nDevelop solutions to complex technical problems, using ingenuity and creativity regularly while working with considerable latitude to determine technical objectives and approaches without appreciable direction.\nGuide the successful completion of major programs and serve in a project leadership role, ensuring technical excellence and organizational alignment.\nInteract with senior personnel across the organization on significant technical matters, playing a key role in driving collaboration and decision-making.\nRepresent Sierra Space as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects, ensuring technical integrity and alignment with organizational goals while fostering strong relationships with external stakeholders.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nRequires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or Masters +6 yrs experience).\nTypically 8+ years of related experience.\nDemonstrated expertise in structural analysis.\nExtensive technical expertise and has working knowledge of related disciplines.\nAbility to work without appreciable direction requiring considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.\nExpertise to provide solutions to complex technical problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAdvanced proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., Nastran, Femap, Ansys).\nStrong familiarity with industry standards and best practices (e.g., ASME, ASTM, AISC).\nExceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with an inclination for automation and optimization.\nProficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++) for custom analysis methods.\nDetailed knowledge of both linear and non-linear material properties and behavior in aerospace applications including metallics, composites, and bonded joints.\nExperience with Finite Element Methods and Analysis Software (Preferably ANSYS or Simcenter Nastran)\nExperience with dynamic analysis including random response, frequency response, or transient analysis solutions.\nExperience supporting testing and performing model correlation with test data.\nCompensation:\nPay Range:\n$137,386.00 - $188,926.75Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.\nIMPORTANT NOTICE:\nTo conform to U.S. Government international trade regulations, applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce\nElevate Your Career\nAt Sierra Space, we are committed to your personal and professional development.
