You will act as a critical technical escalation point and advisor. In this role, you will leverage your hands-on expertise in the RTL-to-GDSII flow to debug intricate implementation issues, recommend optimal PD recipes, and create robust reference documentation to ensure customer tape-out success.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Escalation & Debugging: Act as a senior technical escalation point for challenging customer issues, actively debugging and resolving complex physical design roadblocks spanning from synthesis to post-route closure.\n\nCustomer Guidance & Optimization: Collaborate with the broader support and account teams to provide expert-level guidance on Physical Design (PD) recipes, helping customers tailor their implementation strategies to meet specific Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) targets.\n\nDocumentation & Reference Design: Develop, maintain, and publish comprehensive user guides, application notes, and reference physical implementation flows to empower both customers and internal support teams.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with customer support leadership to synthesize and relay critical technical feedback on tool and flow performance to internal R&D and platform engineering teams.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with 4+ years of relevant industry experience.\n\nPhysical Design Expertise: 4+ years of hands-on experience in the digital Physical Design flow, with a strong understanding of all stages from RTL synthesis through Place and Route (P&R) to post-route signoff.\n\nProblem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and debugging capabilities, with a proven track record of troubleshooting complex implementation and EDA tool issues.\n\nCommunication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable guidance for internal stakeholders and external customers.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nApplication Engineering Background: Prior experience in an applications engineering or technical support role within the semiconductor or EDA industry.\n\nIndustry-Standard Tools: Hands-on experience with major industry-standard physical design and synthesis tools (e.g., Synopsys Fusion Compiler/ICC2, Cadence Innovus, or Genus).\n\nScripting: Proficiency in scripting languages (TCL, Python) to automate debugging processes, build workarounds, or analyze customer design databases.\n\n Additional Information:\nThis position requires a successful background and reference checks and satisfactory proof of your right to work in:\nIndiaAny offer of employment for this position is also contingent on the Company verifying that you are a authorized for access to export-controlled technology under applicable export control laws or, if you are not already authorized, our ability to successfully obtain any necessary export license(s) or other approvals.\nSiFive is an equal opportunity employer.
