We own the month-end close, financial reporting, and the systems and processes behind them, and we partner closely with FP&A, Revenue, and business teams across the company to make sure the numbers tell the right story.\nAbout the Role\nWe're looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role supports AP, core general ledger, close, and compliance activities and is a strong growth path toward a Senior Accountant position.\nWhat You'll Do\nPrepare and post journal entries for non-revenue areas such as prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.\n\nPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts (cash, prepaids, accrued liabilities, fixed assets, etc.) and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.\n\nSupport the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring deadlines and accuracy standards are met.\n\nPost daily cash transactions and perform bank reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.\n\nAssist with fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules.\n\nOwn accounts payable end to end and support expense-related accounting as needed.\n\nHelp maintain and improve internal controls and documentation.\n\nAssist with the preparation of schedules and support for external audits and internal reviews.\n\nIdentify opportunities to streamline and automate recurring accounting processes.\n\nExperience leveraging and customizing AI/LLM tools (e.g., Gemenia, Claude) for day-to-day work, and general fluency with AI-assisted workflows.\n\nPartner cross-functionally with FP&A and other Accounting team members on ad hoc requests and analysis.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.\n\n4-6 years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting or industry).\n\nSolid understanding of US GAAP and general ledger accounting.\n\nExperience with international accounting and IFRS reporting standards is a plus.\n\nExperience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) and strong Excel skills.\n\nExperience with Expense Software (e.g., Navan, Expensify, Brex).\n\nExperience with Tax Software (e.g., Avalara, Anrok).\n\nStrong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in a fast-paced environment.\n\nGood communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.\n\nSelf-starter who takes ownership and is eager to grow into a Senior Accountant role.\n\nLet’s build it together:\nAt Sift, we are intentionally building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
