All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or protected veteran status and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.\nRequirements\n5+ years experience as a software manager leading a team of software developers in an engineering environment.\n10+ years experience developing software.\nExperience implementing and improving software development processes.\nDemonstrated experience leading software development in support of business goals.\nMust be a U.S. citizen.\nCandidate Differentiators:\nExperience developing and testing radar systems.\nExperience with Digital Signal Processing.\nExperience with ISO and CMMI standards.\nExperience developing real-time embedded systems.\nComputer Programs/Software:\nFamiliarity with C++ development and accompanying build systems.\nSkilled in Microsoft Office Suite.\nPersonnel Clearance Level:\nCandidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.\nClearance may be sponsored for the right candidate.\nEducation Requirements:\nBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering or related field of study. \nEssential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):\nLead a group of 20 software engineers to design and maintain software that implements instrumentation radars and threat radar models. \nProvide day-to-day technical and task leadership for a team of software engineers, ensuring delivery of high-quality software on cost, schedule, and technical performance.\nCollaborate closely with program, system, and hardware managers to plan and execute projects.\nWork with program managers and leadership to plan project staffing for ongoing and upcoming projects.\nWhen staff is needed, work with Sigma Defense Talent Recruiters to find, interview and select software engineering staff.\nWork with local universities to select and hire software co-ops and interns.\nAssist software teams to meet project and business objectives.\nImplement and lead software development processes and standards including quality assurance.\nMentor and coach engineers on technical growth, career development, and performance expectations.\nManage employee performance thru Objective Key Result goals, regular 1-on-1 meetings and performance reviews.\nInteract with Sigma Defense QMS organization to implement ISO and CMMI requirements and support audits.\nCarry out company policies by ensuring training and time recording is carried out.\nEnsure site software tools and licenses are procured, up-to-date, and meet cyber-security requirements.\nWork with Human Resources to assist employees as needed (onboarding, off-boarding, personal issues, leave-of-absences, etc.).\nAssist program managers to create estimates and technical descriptions to respond to proposals.\nLead and contribute technically to projects by generating, tracking, and updating programs, developing and working within program budgets, and generating and presenting at customer program reviews.\nSalary Range: $173,000 -
