What began as a cost-effective supplier of low-voltage electrical products has grown into a global solutions provider of highly engineered, complex metal components, including machined parts and precision metal stampings.\nAt Sigma Engineered Solutions “your success is our mission.” It’s a promise we live by daily and it defines everything we do whether you are a team member or customer.\nJob Summary: This position is responsible for providing product technical and application support to the Sales and customer base and acts as a liaison between customer and engineering/manufacturing/quality teams for new product development and quality related activities.\nWhat you will be doing:\nProvide technical product engineering support to Sales team & and customers.\nAssist customers with product application issues and current product design changes.\nWork with the Sales team and to gather customer requirements for product launch and new product development.\nSupport new growth and existing business sales through on-site visits with Sales team.\nConduct product focus groups and analyze & and summarize feedback.\nProvide input on product information via knowledge of competitor’s activities and new products applications to the Sales, Marketing and Engineering teams. Capture voice of customers for new products.\nLiaison with UL/CSA and engineering on product specifications, testing, and standards.\nMonitor code compliance and NEC code changes.\nLiaison between customer and Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering teams.\nConduct product quality audits.\nPrepare product literature which includes sell sheets and brochures for customers, and product instructional videos.\nWhat you will bring to the team:\nGeneral knowledge of the principles and practices of application and product engineering,\nAbility to develop long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments.\nAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with peers, customers, and business partners.\nAbility to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.\nAbility to track activities effectively and close them in a timely manner.\nExtensive experience with Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel. \nWillingness to learn new things.\nAbility to take on additional responsibilities as necessary.\nRequirements\nEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical engineering) \n3-5 years’ experience in field sales and/or technical support in mechanical, electrical, electronic and/or lighting industry. \nProduct knowledge in the electrical industry and about the casting process is a plus.\nKnowledge or experience of new product development process\nPreferred Qualifications: \nSix Sigma Greenbelt certification or design for certification is a plus\nTravel: Some domestic and international travel is required.\nPhysical Requirements:\nProlonged periods sitting, with computer and other office machine usage.\nProlonged periods of standing/walking\nFluent speech with the ability to communicate using telephone.\nSigma Engineered Solutions is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
