Ensures efficient production operation during shift.\nWhat you will be doing:\nSupervises production operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures to drive accountability and meet plant performance goals.\nDrives a “safety first” culture in the operation.\nResponsible for shift schedule to include workstation assignments/rotations, employee training, employee paid time off, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees and shift rotations.\nResponsible for quality control. Adjusts as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications. Rejects product outside of specifications.\nCommunicates with other Shift Supervisors and Production Manager to assure effective shift hand offs.\nMonitors performance throughout the shift - removing roadblocks for increased efficiency.\nResponsible for weekly time and attendance for accurate payroll processing - and reviews attendance reports to assure adherence to policy.\nParticipates in the hiring, coordinates training and coaches’ production employees.\nConducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.\nAddresses employees’ issues and provides amicable solutions to all parties following company policies and procedures.\nAssists in handling discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.\nCoordinates with Operations Manager for requirements for the shift (staffing levels, cross training needs, equipment)\nSchedules and conducts shift meetings.\nFollow safe work practices and keep the work area clean and organized.\nPerform related duties as assigned.\nFollow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Employee Handbook and adhere to the proper Code of Conduct while on company property.\nRequirements\nWhat you will bring to the team:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent, required.\nMinimum 3 years manufacturing leadership experience preferred.\n5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.\nStamping experience is a plus.\nPreferred Competencies:\nKnowledge and fluent use of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with team.\nMust be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.\nAbility to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.\nAbility to promote teamwork and drive accountability\nMust be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.\nProlonged periods sitting, with computer and other office machine usage.\nProlonged periods of standing/walking\nThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
