This position oversees the planning, development, implementation, enhancement, and support of enterprise applications and technology solutions.\nThe Manager leads internal teams and external vendors in delivering business-focused solutions while ensuring technology investments align with organizational objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of business processes and enterprise systems to identify opportunities for automation, integration, and operational improvement.\nEssential Job Functions\nAnalyze business needs and identify opportunities for system enhancements, integrations, process improvements, and automation. \nServe as the primary point of contact for business application and systems-related initiatives. \nLead software development, application enhancement, systems implementation, and integration projects. \nAnalyze business and client requests, define project scope, and develop estimates. \nAssist in developing return-on-investment analyses and business cases for technology initiatives. \nIdentify the potential implications of projects at both the system and organizational levels. \nDevelop project processes, schedules, resource plans, and budgets. \nCoordinate the work of developers, business analysts, vendors, consultants, and other project participants. \nEnsure the quality of development deliverables and oversee testing and user-acceptance activities. \nProvide regular reporting regarding project progress, risks, challenges, and outcomes. \nDevelop technical and user documentation and ensure users receive effective training. \nCoordinate application-related activities among IT, internal departments, staff, and outside vendors. \nDevelop and execute system test plans and verify system enhancements, integrations, and fixes. \nCollaborate with senior leadership and departmental managers to ensure application and systems strategies align with business objectives. \nProvide subject-matter expertise regarding enterprise applications, software solutions, automation platforms, data integrations, and business systems. \nEvaluate existing business systems and rapidly develop an understanding of operational processes to identify improvement opportunities. \nOversee software development lifecycle activities, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and support. \nManage relationships with software vendors, development partners, consultants, and system integrators. \nEnsure the successful integration of new business applications and technologies. \nSupport data governance, reporting, workflow automation, and enterprise system optimization efforts. \nPerform other duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and at least 10 years of related experience. \nManagement may consider an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience acceptable for appointment to this position. \nDemonstrated experience leading software development teams, vendors, consultants, and project resources. \nExperience managing application development, systems integration, API technologies, and automation platforms. \nExperience gathering business requirements and translating them into effective technical solutions. \nExperience managing multiple concurrent projects and balancing competing priorities. \nPrior experience evaluating technology products and leading “buy versus build” decision-making processes. \nExperience with ERP, CRM, GIS, workflow automation, document management, or other enterprise business systems is preferred. \nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models. \nProven ability to quickly learn and understand complex business processes and enterprise systems. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate business processes and recommend improvements. \nKnowledge of database concepts, reporting platforms, data integration technologies, and modern application architectures. \nProven project management skills. \nAbility to communicate effectively with executives, business stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors. \nAbility to work with internal teams and external vendors to deliver solutions that meet defined requirements. \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills. \nProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). \nAdditional Requirements\nWillingness and ability to travel overnight during the week as business needs require. \nDependable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance. \nAbility to successfully complete a background check, drug screening, and driving-record check. \nAuthorization to work in the United States. \nPhysical Requirements\nMust be able to perform frequent, lengthy periods of sedentary work and sit for prolonged periods. \nMust be able to use a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods. \nMust have the physical ability to prepare and analyze data and figures, transcribe notes, and view a computer terminal.
