This role provides hands-on technical leadership while ensuring maintenance work meets safety, quality, documentation, and operational readiness standards.\nThis is a contingent position that is pending award of contract. This means that the position is subject to the successful awarding of a contract and will be confirmed once the contract is finalized. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or protected veteran status and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.\nRequirements\n5+ years of experience performing maintenance, repair, or modification of air-cushion vehicles, aircraft, or U.S. Navy shipboard mechanical systems.\n5+ years of concurrent experience supervising mechanical maintenance and repair of air-cushion vehicles or aircraft.\nStrong technical background in mechanical systems, component-level maintenance, and operational restoration.\nProven experience implementing and enforcing quality control measures within a mechanical maintenance environment.\nDemonstrated ability to apply these standards to mechanical maintenance activities to improve processes and ensure quality.\nAbility to train others in 3-M compliance.\nStrong leadership capabilities with experience directing maintenance teams in operational environments.\nExcellent communication, organization, time management, and decision-making skills.\nAbility to maintain documentation, interpret technical data, and ensure accuracy in maintenance records.\nMust be a U.S. citizen.\nPersonnel Clearance Level:\nCandidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.\nClearance may be sponsored for the right candidate.\nEducation Requirements:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent is required.\nEssential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):\nLead the daily execution of mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for air-cushion vehicles, aircraft systems, or shipboard mechanical equipment.\nSupervise maintenance technicians and mechanics, ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to procedures, and safe work practices.\nAssign and monitor tasks, provide technical direction, and ensure maintenance actions are performed correctly and efficiently.\nConduct and oversee corrective and preventative maintenance, component replacements, system inspections, alignments, and operational tests.\nDiagnose complex mechanical issues and guide the team through resolution using established technical methods and best practices.\nValidate work completion through functional checks, inspections, and documentation.\nImplement and enforce mechanical maintenance quality control measures.\nEnsure maintenance activities comply with applicable workmanship and technical standards, including:\nJ-STD-001\nIPC-A-610\nIPC-A-620\nIdentify maintenance discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to sustain high-quality maintenance outcomes.\nUtilize the Navy 3-M Preventative Maintenance Program to plan, document, and validate maintenance requirements.\nEnsure accurate and complete maintenance recordkeeping, including logs, system documentation, and maintenance index system entries.\nEnsure that preventative maintenance schedules are followed, documented, and updated in accordance with procedural requirements.\nTrain personnel on proper use of 3-M tools, forms, and reporting processes.\nEnforce strict adherence to safety practices, hazard controls, and maintenance worksite protocols.\nIdentify risks involving equipment, tooling, maintenance processes, or personnel, and implement risk mitigation strategies.\nConduct worksite inspections to ensure compliance with safety policies and mechanical system maintenance standards.\nMentor and train junior technicians in mechanical maintenance procedures, quality requirements, and proper documentation practices.\nSupport qualification tracking, skills development, and certification maintenance for assigned personnel.\nFoster a culture of technical excellence, safety, and pride in workmanship.\nSalary Range: $55,000 -
