Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Various Levels)
Location: Banbridge, Co Down
Salary: £30-35k (Grad Level), £45-50k (Mid Level), 50k+ (Senior Level) - all negotiable depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (early finish on Fridays)
Overview:
Our client is seeking to expand their QS team with the addition of a Grad, a Mid Level and Senior level Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Banbridge based team. This role plays a key part in the successful commercial delivery of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) construction projects, overseeing costs from pre-construction through to final account settlement. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost control, valuations, contract administration, variation management, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the successful financial delivery of mechanical and electrical construction projects.
- Manage project costs, monthly valuations, variations, and change control processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and site teams.
- Maintain financial oversight of projects, including job costing reviews, valuations, and final accounts.
- Monitor and follow up on payments to ensure compliance with agreed contract terms.
- Prepare and submit accurate monthly valuations based on site progress and work completed.
- Complete project documentation and correspondence within agreed timescales.
- Provide regular commercial reports and updates to senior management.
- Review contract documentation and identify any potential risks, assumptions, or commercial issues prior to execution.
- Develop and improve commercial processes, controls, and reporting procedures.
- Support the wider commercial team and undertake any additional duties required within the role.
Essential Criteria:
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- Working towards or already qualified with RICS, CIOB, or ICES.
Experience & Knowledge
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a Quantity Surveying role, preferably within the construction sector.
- Strong understanding of cost value reporting procedures.
- Experience administering JCT contracts from both client and subcontractor perspectives.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable:
- 5+ years' post-qualification experience within a construction-related Quantity Surveying role.
- Experience working on Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects.
